Great Hotel in Roslyn NY

Posted May 26, 2015
Stayed at Roslyn Hotel for a family wedding- staff was extremely friendly and helpful from check in to check out. After wedding went back to hotel and gathered in lounge area staff came by several times to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Room was a great size and layout but bed was terrible soft mattress possible broken box spring - both my husband and I slept in center of mattress not by choice just where you rolled to as soon as laying down. Breakfast was great good selection- something for everyone.

a few little improvements and this is a 5 star

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: bright, clean, well located for us
Cons: complete renovations
Location: thank god for GPS
we stayed here for a family function. Hotel is very nice but I believe at this time it is still completing renovations. the first room we were given did not have a working air conditioner. They quickly changed our room as they could not get the a/c working. we were moved to a suite at no extra charge. this room was also very nice but was missing a few things such as a TV remote for the living room side and soap dish shelf for the shower. not sure about the designer for this suite. the bath vanity was at about 44 inches from the floor and then a contemporary bowl sink 12 inches above that. putting the top of the sink at about 54 inches. Outside the bathroom was what appeared to be a clothes hook at about 7 ft. from the floor? There were 2 places for a mini fridge but there were none. even so this is a nice place, free breakfast and free parking.

Pretty hotel in quaint town

Posted May 7, 2015
Pros: Recently renovated, everything is clean and new. Breakfast was good. Staff was very nice. Pretty view.
Cons: Heaters/AC in the rooms were noisy when they came on. Rooms on the road side have traffic noise as the hotel is very close to the road.
Location: Not much to do nearby except the beach.
There are not a lot of places to stay in Roslyn and I was pleasantly surprised such a nice place was available.

Nice hotel but very noisy.

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: clean, great location, trendy.
the room was located in a very noisy part of the hotel. between other guests and road noise, I had a hard time sleeping. i understand other guests may be coming from parties at 3am, but some sound insulation would have been great in the walls. also, checked in early and hotel seemed empty (parking lot empty). would have thought the staff would have given me a better room. but i think they new i was an online buyer and they stuck me in a not so prime location.

Seen Better Days

Pros: location = perfect -- breakfast is a nice touch --
Cons: Soundproofing; doors make a lot of noise when they close; one can hear conversations from neighboring rooms and the public areas
The hotel is in a perfect location for our needs, but it's a little run down, there's a lot of noise when doors close and/or people talk in their rooms or the hall and/or bar, and the amenities are spotty at best. We've been there several times but would look for someplace else the next time we are in the area.

Could have been Nice but...

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Decor was nice. Breakfast was substantial and good.
Cons: Service, cleanliness. Sound proof the windows.
Location: On a very busy noisy street.
Visually, it was a nice hotel and it should have been nice. However, I had two main issues. First, room cleanliness. There was a half consumed bottle of water and a subway receipt on the dresser when I first came in the room. There was open, used soaps in the bathroom tub and sink. This made me question everything about how the room was cleaned. Second, I got very little sleep due to traffic noise that came through the window as it was right above a busy street. Also, there was an alarm clock that went off in a room near me that took 40 minutes and two trips down to the front desk before they found and turned it off. Dialing the front desk on the room phone didn't work, nor dialing the direct hotel phone number. Won't stay again.
