“Perfect for a short stay”

The staff were great. The room was clean and comfortable, overall, an excellent value. Hotel location was incredibly convenient. Watch out for the terrible service of the Asian restaurant in the hotel. not part of NH, the service was horrifyingly bad.

“Excellent older hotel”

Wonderful room (others on previous visits were smaller) with decent bathroom, helpful staff, good breakfast buffet (extra cost). Convenient to the pedestrian streets. We'll go back.

“Perfect location for attending events in WTC”

Perfect location for attending events in the WTC building (just across the street). Free wireless is great! But asking daily for a login & password was a bit annoying. Connection worked for 24 hours, and then I had to go to reception for a new print-out. They could not generate 5 passwords for my 5-day stay.

“Good value and location”

Great value and location, close to the night life. When I checked in, I got the impression that the beakfast buffet came with the room, but in fact it did not. Also, the wireless internet provided is too expensive. That being said, a clean, new room with an excellent bathroom and a good staff. Would recomend a stay.

“Convenient location, horrible beds and parking”

We were somewhat dissapointed. We arrived one hour before their official check-in begins for a 4 night stay and they still made us wait, not because the room wasnt ready but because they charge 20 euro extra if you want to check-in before 3pm. Parking is far and expensive (3 blocks away and costs 28 Euro per day). The beds are horrible and are on wheels (we got two beds put together with a big crack in the middle, so no romance on our stay). Good for business, not so good for couples.

“An American in Rotterdam”

From an American's viewpoint, I would like to have a shower, or at least a shower I would consider functional. The shower in my room was in the middle of the side of a tub, and there was no shower curtain. After a long day of work, I do enjoy a nice shower. Hotel itself was nice. Room was furnished like it came out of an IKEA. Very minimalistic. Small TV that was also the alarm clock. I had a hard time getting it to work, so I had to set up a wake up call. I couldn't get the A/C to turn off, but I have heard I was fortunate just to have an A/C period. I ended up turning the heat on full blast and letting them fight it out. Internet was like 9EU a day. I had problems getting it to work and it was very slow. About 700k down. The staff is top notch. I can't understate how nice they were or generous. I was able to check in early, much earlier than the norm, for zero extra cost. Its posted that you should have to pay 10EU for each hour you want to check in earlier than 3PM. I know I could have checked out late probably in the same manner. Hotel is in the heart of Rotterdam shopping. There is a McDonald's across the street, if you need a quick meal. You are close to everything including the Rotterdam Central train station (10 min walk), Metro (5 min walk), and Cool District shopping (2 min walk). I did not eat in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel.

“Quality of the hotel is definitelly not 4 star”

I've stayed for 4 nights in Rotterdam recently. The quality of the room does not deserve 4 stars for sure. I would rather say 2 1/2 or maybe (but really maybe 3 stars. My room was at the end of floor 3 with a 'beautifull' view at the back of the hotel and the wall of a shopping center. Result? The room was dark. it was also noisy because windows were probably not changed from the time the hotel was originally built. I was there for work and the hotel is a 2 minutes walk from the office otherwise I would change it immediately. I have a feeling that there are 2 types of rooms and I've got the old one. Not a 4 star hotel.

“Unpleasant experience”

The hotel room was very old and dark. It lookded like it had over 100-year-old history. I did not sleep well at night. The hotel staffs were very cold and indifferent. When my friend and me, with luggages, waited for the elevator in the morning to check out, there was a group of staff next to us. They did not smile at us, did not look at us, did not say anyting to us. They just took the elevator and then left, leaving us with luggages waiting for next elevator. Very terrible and unplesant expereince.
