Not bad but expensive mediocre foodPosted Mar 16, 2014
Cons: Lower price for food
Dinner was expensive for what it was. Frozen chips etc. Not enough quantity of buffet starters and deserts.

Pretty standard fare Campanile hotel, although a bit odd in that the reception is in a separate building from the rooms. To get access to the rooms you have to leave the reception building and walk round the back, then climb a spiral staircase which is open to the elements onto an outside balcony. The rooms open straight onto the balcony (think Butlins chalets). The room and bathroom were both clean. Again a bit odd in the bathroom though in that the shaving mirror was over the toilet instead of over the sink! Ample car parking space (locked at night). Hotel is a few minutes' walk from Roubaix Grand Place where you can get the métro into Lille.

Not bad for a quicm overnight stayPosted Oct 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed in the hotel for one night Oct/13, hotel is a little run-down and could use some modernizing. All the staff were nice and courteous. Rooms are stale but like everything could use some modernizing. All in all, not too bad.

Needed to be herePosted Jul 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Where to start, No airconditioning and room smelt smoke..This hotel is a bit Jeckel n Hyde.. Rooms so so but servicable, but the restaurant and meals were very good. Hotel is only 5 minute walk to large shopping centre..Over all the City needs a real face lift.

Comfy stayPosted May 25, 2013
The hotel is situated in a nice area not far from the centre of town, comfy rooms, clean, but needs an overhaul

Our stay in RoubaixPosted Jul 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
One of the lights in the bathroom had gone. Also, the remote control for the TV didn't work - it needed a new battery. The spare pillows had hairs on them and had not been cleaned. However, the room had everything that we wanted. The parking was convenient. The staff were helpful. The room was very reasonably priced.

On the night we stayed, unfortunately it was torrential rain so we couldnt go out anywhere. We decided to stay in the room with a bottle of wine so asked at reception if we could buy a bottle there. We was told that we could only buy alcohol if we was eating in their restaurant! Then we asked for more coffee sachets for the room. "Sorry, you are only allowed 2 sachets per room per day"!!! The hotel wasnt exactly over booked (about 5 or 6 cars in the car park). Would it have hurt them to give us something that costs them about a penny each?! Also the view from the landing was not very pleasant. My girlfriend and I both smoke and went outside a few times. Although it overlooked a small park and square, we could also look at the local winos congregating by the subway under the road, and occasionally 1 or 2 of them urinating against the wall!! Very romantic!! Overall the hotel was clean and ample for a 1 night stay but I think they could improve their customer service for a place that wasnt turning the crowds.

Great Stopover HotelPosted Feb 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
A really good Campanile in a city centre location and free parking. Good for an overnight stop. One small drawback, Campanile could you put a larger sign up or cut down foliage, the current sign has a shrub growing in front of it, we drove past twice!

Dreadful in every wayPosted Sep 8, 2011
Impressive lobby area, staff pleasant- however room was filthy with broken light fittings, cigarette burns on floor, thick dust and sticky floor- we hurriedly left and booked in the All Seasons Roubaix - we also cancelled every Campanile hotel booked on the rest of our trip- they are beyond basic!

OK Hotel but wrong locationPosted Oct 24, 2010
Booked this hotel after ages looking for a hotel in Lille, in my error i booked this hotel thinking it was in Lille (i know my mistake). We needed to take the metro in and out of Lille each day which was fine but a bit of a pain. The hotel was ok but not designed for tourists, it was more a business motel than anything. Only one member of staff spoke english and although they were welcoming they kind of ingored us a bit and i think they didnt understand why we had booked there. The room was basic but clean. The hotel is right next to a school so if you plan to spend any weekdays chilling in your room you could be disappointed.
