Basil Fawlty eat your heart out

Posted Nov 26, 2014 on Hotels
Booked this for members of my family. Gave 48 hours notice yet they told on arrival breakfast wasn't possibly due to having no food and because they are the only guests there. What kind of hotel says that? Room was cold yet I would've expected at this time of year being so near to North pole the courteous thing to do was stick it on few hours before. Maybe should've had word with Santa to appear and cheer things up a bit with a halogen heater. My 80 year old gran was "chilled to bone" she said. My mum said "room was nice tho" but she's too polite to moan. Doubt il be asked book again for them after this.

Friendly enough staff but very dated and not very clean. Bedding was clean but nil else Bathroom especially shower was thick with black mould and mildew. Also only place to eat was the bar area and was very noisy. Food was fine usual pub grub.

Short Stay

Nice hotel, however Expedia needs to note the hotel name clearer. Staff member was great and greeted my sister and I outside at 10pm due to it being quite dark coming from the train.

The place to stay after tackling Ben Nevis

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The food and the staff
Cons: The decor
Location: Great base for exploring the Nevis range/ fort William area without the hiked up prices of the bigger hotels
A great value for money hotel, hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. The evening meal was excellent and the cooked breakfast also. A nice bar for a few relaxing drinks after a hard day on the Ben and would recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely Welcome

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The scenery from the hotel room was fantastic.
Cons: Needs a lick of paint and a new bathroom.
Location: We were really near Fort William and we had gone on the Jacobite Steam Train to Mallaig hence the stay.
Lovely welcome and nice people. Room was clean and tidy but the bathroom could do with an upgrade. However we would stay again as the price was excellent. The breakfast was really nice and very quick to be served.

Old style Inn

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Bar, view, staff
Cons: The rooms was not clean
Location: in a crossroad to fort william or lochness
Passing to Fort William, cheap accomodation in an old style Inn. The pub is superb and so the garden. The rooms are cool but really old.
