“Not Impressed”
My mother and I stayed at two other Mercure Hotels in Germany during our trip but the one in Russelsheim was very disappointing compared to our other experiences. The hotel staff was not super helpful. We asked for two wake up calls because our flight was very early in the morning. Neither came. Luckily we woke up a bunch of times to check time since our phone was dead and the only thing we had to rely on was the wakeup call. The bistro served so so food and it was buffet only. There wasn't much in the area to eat so you were sort of forced to stay at the hotel if you had no transportation. The internet was not working for 8 hours and the staff kept saying to keep trying instead of fixing the problem. There was not a computer terminal for guests to use either. The rooms were clean and spacious though. Outside was noisy if you wanted to keep the window open for air circulation. It's 11 miles to the airport so leave at least 30 minutes or more due to traffic to get to Frankfurt airport. The cab fare ranges from 30-40 Euros from the hotel to the airport.
“Nowhere near the airport!!”
Imagine how surprise I was to find my airport hotel 30 miles from the airport! While the hotel was fine, it was in an industrial neighborhood, far from any leisure activities, and the receptionist did not recomend walking in the area. The train station taxi(hotel too far to walk to) charged me double the going rate and I generally felt taken by the whole experience.
