“Very Pleased”

We stayed at the hotel next door last trip. This was MUCH better. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool. Good coffee and continental breakfast.

“Nice, quiet hotel”

The hotel staff were professional and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. The free breakfast had a lot of choices to suit everyone's preferences.

Area recommendations

The main street shops in Ruidoso are those small, quaint type of shops. If you are a skiier, don't miss out on Ski Apache, which was the reason for our visit.

“Will stay there again.”

I specifically like the cleanliness of the hotel, inside and out. The dining area was convenient to our room, and we were always able to park our car close to the side door of the hotel, which didn't require a lot of walking. The continental breakfast was enjoyable each morning, and the two ladies kept the area clean and well stocked.

Area recommendations

We attended a concert at Inn of the Mountain Gods, which is located three or four miles from Ruidoso. It was very enjoyable and easy to drive to from our hotel. The horse races at Ruidoso Downs are fun and exciting, and we have always been able to enter and exit the parking areas easily.

When to go

My family and I have always gone to Ruidoso in the summer, usually for the horse races, but this year we went in the fall, and I highly recommend this time of year. Some of the bountiful folige in the city and outside were already changing color , and it was truly beautiful.

“Fantastic for the price.”

Fantastic location to the city of Ruidoso and out lying areas....Place of the Lincoln County Wars with the legendary Billy the Kid (William Bonney). Also close to fort Sutton the Original fort of the Buffalo Soldiers..much to see and take in in the beautiful city and if you go in the winter also skiing available. Deer and wild Turkeys all over the place...what a great place.

Very safe and nice with a Denny's 50's dinner within walking distance and you could also walk to the Race Track if you are fit...Will return and do it again in the near future.

“Would stay there again”

I normally do not stay overnight in Ruidoso since I only live 2.5 hours away. I was there for a 3 day business meeting. Because there are so many things around the area, I am planning a trip back for a weekend get-away. Defnitely will stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites Ruidoso Downs. Had a very good experience.

The hotel employees were helpful and the rooms were clean. The complimentary breakfast was great to have. Very convenient so we could get on our way up the mountain.
