“Perfect Quirky Getaway”

We're a family of 6 and it's always a challenge to find a hotel that can accommodate us without having to have two rooms or a roll-away or someone on the floor.... so we were excited to see that Sitzmark actually had a room that could hold all of us on a bed. The room was more spacious than we expected. The beds were comfortable. The restroom had plenty of towels but could have used more toiletries (we usually carry our own thank goodness). The kids really enjoyed the fireplace (they provide one firelog and we bought another for $5). The room has a small old TV... though not a real problem... a 40+ inch LCD would make it easier to view through out the room. They had small muffins in the morning.... but a pot of coffee too would have been awesome. Great find. Eclectic, quirky, comfortable, and friendly would sum this up... definitely stay here again!

“Enjoyed stay, great value.”

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Sitzmak Chalet earlier this month. We were in Ruidoso for a Toastmaster Conference at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. We originally planned to stay at IMG, until we encountered its 1) mixed reviews, 2) high cost, and 3) smoking rooms being all that were available when I called. Sitzmark Chalet is less than 10 minutes from IMG, and other Ruidoso attractions. It is a non-smoking motel, with lots of features for the price. We enjoyed the refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, free wi-fi, breakfast muffins and comfortable beds. We did not have a fireplace in our room, but the hot tub was pleasant in the cold November weather. We had the hot tub to ourselves because it is located in an unheated uninsulated outside room with screen windows, and the temperature the nights when we used it ranged from 39 to 45 F. The owner was very friendly, provided extra towels and uncovered the hot tub for our use. The TV had lots of channels but lacked connections for the computer. The hotel and parking lot are both small, but we had no trouble finding parking.

“Would stay here again.”

Nice, clean family type motel in a convenient location. While it is an older property, a good deal of care has gone into upkeep and the people working there were friendly. Our room had been recently remodeled and was clean and comfortable.

“Reasonably priced oasis in an expensive area”

We spent only one night in Ruidoso, and didn't know why this town was so expensive compared with other places we had stayed in NM. Upon arrival, we learned that this is a resort town for both skiing and horse racing/trading, which explains the high prices! This hotel was the best priced option available. It is an aging privately-owned little property that is laid out a bit like a motel. The owners have put effort in to decorating the outside to make it cute, the office area is inviting, they have a little candy dish out and lots of brochures for area attractions, and the service is prompt and friendly. For breakfast they put out store-bought little muffins, and each room is equipped with a coffee maker, microwave and fridge along with the usual (tv, hair dryer, blah blah blah). The beds were a little bit hard, but still perfectly fine; the room was clean, and again a little effort had been put in to making the room nice for guests. However, the walls are a little thin. Someone was watching tv VERY LOUDLY and we could hear this. In short, this is an older, privately owned motel. I appreciate the pride they take in their place by decorating and cleaning, and I appreciate that they put out those cheap little muffins - instead we could get nothing, and the place and the service is much warmer and more personal than at your average motel. I would stay here again.

“My new favorite place to stay in Ruidoso!”

I love the Sitzmark Chalet Inn!! The owners are so nice, and it's such a quaint little place in the middle of Ruidoso. Drive time to the casino is less than 10 minutes and it's just a beautiful place, always decorated for the season!

“can't wait to go back”

I would recommend this place to anyone that is going to Ruidoso,N.M. We stayed in a cabin on are second night there,wishing that we would have stayed at the Sitzmark both nights.

“Great place in Ruidoso”

We stayed at the Stizmark Chalet on our way back from Santa Fe to Texas and found it clean and convenient. It's a bit funky but charming. The owners live on site and were very friendly and helpful . The rates are great , the bed was comfortable, and we'd certainly stay there again.
