No frills hotel needs updating

Posted Jul 15, 2014
The hotel is badly in need of remodeling. My stay was quite unpleasant as I had requested a no smoking room but I was placed in a smoking room which obviously smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The cigarette odor permeated my clothing as well.

Cons: Once you exit the hotel you cannot re-enter where you left, you must use the lobby.
Location: Good nearby food and service. Close to Philadelphia but the Benjamin Franklin Bridge has a $5.00 toll when crossing into Philadelphia.
The area is actually a nice place to check out; there is a beautiful park nearby within driving distance. The employees who helped us were nice and approachable. The room we stayed in was descent and certainly had all the main amenities you want - A.C., T.V. and refrigerator (it also had a microwave). The AC worked great and there's free Wi-Fi.

Not recommended

The room had a horrible smell, the deadbolt lock did not work, the florescent light about the sink did not work, the smoke detector had been pulled off the ceiling and was sitting on the bureau, the carpet in front of the bathroom was wet, and there was a crack in the bath tub. Worst of all was the smell, though. It smelled something like a combination of paint, mildew, and smoke. It was present even in the hallways. All the clothes in my suitcase absorbed the odor even though I didn't wear them in the room. Out of all the hotels I have ever stayed in, this was the worst... Very disappointed...

Pet friendly & affordable indeed

Pros: The quietness and professionalism
Location: The location is remote but very easy to find. There are shopping centers, eateries, and gas in the immediate vicinity
My experience at Travel Lodge was wonderful. I had my dog with me and he enjoyed himself as well. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness and fresh smell not only in the room but throughout the hotel being that pets are on the premises.

Better than expected.

I knew I wanted the cheapest room in the area. The free parking and wifi were the deciding factors, as I was only in town for a Phillies game. The staff went above and beyond; I was able to check-in early, I had a dog, I parked my work trailer in the parking lot, and they were great about giving directions and suggesting driving rather than taxiing to the stadium.

Needs a good cleaning and updates

Staff was very nice and accommodating. However the walls were dirty and outlets were not covering the hole cut out. Some outlets did not work. Needs new toilet toilet seat.

OK for a place to sleep/

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: It was low priced, clean with a polite, helpful, efficient staff.
Cons: The decor and getting flat screen tvs.
Location: I stayed at the hotel to go to Philadelphia and it was very convenient.
The hotel was clean, quiet and convenient to Philadelphia. The staff was as good as you would find in a five star hotel. It is dated with cheap decor, including an old style television set. For what it was, for me, a place to sleep for two nights when I returned from activities in Philadelphia it was fine. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a room that I am only sleeping in.

Simple, good service

This hotel is a good place to stay for those visiting Philly and/or Atlantic City, who want comfort for a reasonable price. The hotel is located down a quiet suburban side street in Runnemede, and the area has a safe and peaceful feel to it. Our room had a king size bed, fridge & microwave, plenty of plug-ins, and a view of the parking lot (we like to keep an eye on our car when travelling), and a simple breakfast is offered every morning for free. The staff was extremely friendly and good-humored and made our stay a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this hotel!
