Excellent Country House Hotel
Lovely couple of days at Hambleton Hall. Great location and the level of service was excellent. The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard and our lake view room was very comfortable.

Everything as we expected - absolutely wonderful stay. Friendly, courteous. Attentive staff. Just what we needed for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Our honeymoon was at The Sharrow Bay Hotel on Ullswater and Hambleton Hall brought back the memories of a true country house hotel.

Valentine get away
Just the perfect place for a romantic stay for Valentine's Day. Cannot fault it and the food and service was exquisite. Already booked again for lunch in June, and will definitely stay again in the autumn. Extremely enjoyable.

The restaurant is exceptional, faultless exciting food. Staff are great with a high number per guest. The views are stunning across Rutland Water. There is nothing to dislike about the property.

Superb on every level
Excellent from start to finish. The building and the setting are stunning, the service was superb. We only had a view of some roofs but we didn’t pay for a view so no complaints. The food was outstanding as could be expected of a Michelin star restaurant.

A rural idyll
What a hidden gem. Hambleton Hall is perfect in every way. The staff were genuinely friendly without being intrusive, Our room was magnificent with wonderful views and far larger than we expected. The food ( including breakfast) lived up to its high reputation and was served with quiet efficiency. There is nothing self congratulatory or showy about the hotel, it simply delivers impeccable standards as the norm. We can’t wait to return.

Hambledon Hall - Romantic retreat
We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful room in an idyllic location. Staff were so warm, welcoming and genuine and the tasting menu meal we chose in the restaurant was the best we've ever eaten. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Fabulous Birthday treat for the family.
Everything was perfect. The comfortable hotel and luxurious rooms, delicious menu and excellent service made it a memorable experience. We really appreciated all the little touches that made this hotel stand out. Like the wellies in the hall, the walking maps and information in the rooms, the artefacts and antiques made it feel like home rather than a hotel

Absolutely Beautiful Hotel, Location & Views
From the minute we parked and saw the beautiful surroundings of the Hotel, we knew we were going to have a Wonderful treat and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome awaited us, we were given a guided tour of the Hotel, shown to our Lake View room and offered refreshments. The view of the gardens and beyond at sunset were amazing and the room extremely comfortable and well equipped, with everything provided. After a walk around the grounds, a rest and a relaxing bath we looked forward to our evening meal. The Exterior and interior of the Hotel is idyllic with log fires both in the Bar and Drawing room, a lovely setting for pre-Dinner drinks. The Staff were very polite, professional and knowledgeable and the Food. Well, what can I say? The only word to describe it is Exquisite. The Quality, Combination of subtle flavours and Presentation was second to none and shall be remembered for a very long time. We look forward to returning to Hambleton Hall and would certainly recommend a visit.

Sets the standard for a country house hotel
We had an overnight stay at Hambleton Hall having been intending to visit for many years. It fully met our expectations, from the initial welcome and reception service, the quality of the room with a superb view across Rutland Water, the towels, sheets etc were all of a very high standard - so often what you get is poorer than you are used to at home. The rooms don't have a kettle but when we asked, the staff could not have been more helpful bringing one and coffee / tea all complimentary. The lounge and the bar are well furnished and welcoming with logs fires roaring in both. When I asked for a particular drink which was not in the bar, the head barman managed to obtain it very quickly, showing that nothing is too much trouble. We had a superb evening meal which lived upto expectations, including grouse and partridge both superbly cooked and presented. The Sommelier clearly knows his wine and provided excellent advice re the right pairings. The breakfast was equally good, with choices such as smoked haddock and kippers on offer alongside the more traditional ones. It is not a cheap option, but for a special treat sets a great standard.

Pre wedding stay
We stayed here the night before our daughters wedding, The service at this hotel is the best we have had anywhere in the world. The location is magical. We were blessed with fabulous weather. Gardens and view are stunning
