Fantastic HotelPosted Jul 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was beautiful. The location was great. Easy walk to the beach, nearby restaurants. Great trail among the cliffs for walking or running.

We stayed in Hostal La Gavina the last week oh August. Hotel is very well located in a quiter part of Costa Brava. The public beach and few town restaraunts are right there. We preferred to go to the other beach at the end of a very pictureous 2 km walk along the sea. Rooms are big enough with hardwood floors, but furniture is a bit tired. Bed was too hard for me but I find most hotels in Europe have hard beds. Service was very good. We had buffet breakfast at the restaurant however we ate so little that we were charged only one buffet price for 2, which was very nice of them. Lunch at the pool was great but pricey. Overall, it is a nice hotel worth staying at.

La Gavina - the place to stay in Costa BravaPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Beach is not on property, pool overlooks beach and it is a short walk. Incredible views from room & pool area. Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here. Very relaxing. You can eat on property or venture out to the other restaurants that are close by.

Great place to relaxPosted May 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
A Very nice hotel. Walking distance to two sand beaches but the pool area was so nice that we spent most of the time there. Also walking distance to 4-5 nice restaurants. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. The hotel is of a very elegant well kept old style. The rooms are very clean, slightly dated but matches the style of the hotel. We went in may and there were no many people or children so it was perfect for relaxing. I don't know how it would be in high season. The only thing that we did not like was that the beds were slightly hard for what American travelers are used to but It seem that it is what you find in most hotels at least where we stayed in Spain. Still highly recommended.
