In town for a wedding

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: The pub is great. Getting a free breakfast everyday was very convenient.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of at this time.
Location: 'Sea Cider' cider tasting and lunch - great visit. Sydney By the Sea is a lovely town.
Just needed a cheap hotel and this was a really good deal

Nice place between the airport and Victoria

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel needs updates and the breakfast should have some variation.
Location: Butchart Gardens, wineries, farm stands, Victoria 15 - 20 minutes away.
Comfortable room in an oldish motel that could use some updates. The room came with breakfast (adequate but never changing) which is a plus especially if your stay is short. Staff were very friendly and the maid service was excellent.

Wasn't really impressed!!

It most certainly is geared to pet owners! I got that from the name but I own dogs and still able to maintain the odor of them. The lobby had a very strong smell of dog, that was kinda disgusting.

Nice and close to the Washington ferry.

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: The large quiet room.
Cons: Fridges and hair dryers would be nice.
Location: Quiet location, lots of places to dine, the Shaw Aquarium is awesome and easy to get to the ferries.
Stayed the night before taking the Washington ferry the next day. The room was very large but had no fridge or hair dryer, a little disappointing. The bed was comfy but somewhat bouncy.

Everything right for a comfortable stay

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: The quaint décor, friendly atmosphere and John "the waddling dog". I loved that they were completely pet friendly.
Cons: Changing too much would take away from the charm, but maybe adding a few king rooms, the room we had was plenty large enough to accommodate a king bed
Location: The hotel is near Sidney, the ocean, the Victoria Airport and many other attractions.
The hotel looks like an Old English Country Inn, well it looks like what it was built to be. The hotel has been well cared for and is a lovely step into the past. Unlike an old dusty, drafty, country inn, this hotel was spotless everywhere. Even John (the actual waddling dog) was perfectly groomed and very lovable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly, with lots of neatly trimmed grass for walking. Although our room was facing the highway, it was quiet with very little noticeable noise. We hit "Wing Wednesday" at the pub and the wing choices were amazing. Service was super fast and friendly. There was a hot breakfast included with our room which was a welcome treat over the coffee and stale Danish that many hotels offer. Our stay was in the low season, so we probably got a very good rate, but I think we received excellent value for our travel dollars.

Comfortable and quaint

Posted May 25, 2015
Cons: New carpets and new paint
It was a pleasant 3 day stay but the Waddling Dog Inn is getting very dated and in need of paint, inside and out. The lobby is very stale smelling. The breakfast was adequate.

Friendly Staff

The staff was very friendly...Hotel a little dated. Was suppose to be a queen sized bed but sure didn't seem like it.No fridge in the room which kinda surprised me but was a nice stay for my needs at that time.
