Waddling Dog WeekendPosted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: It's clean, easy access and dog friendly.
Location: We were only interested in the Fairgrounds and liked the fact that there are restaurants nearby.
We arrived early in the afternoon and were set up in a room on the third floor. We would have liked a first floor room to make it easier for us to take our dogs out for their relief breaks. Because the elevator was so close to us, we managed quite well. When we phoned the front desk to ask for assistance with the TV which was not working, we immediately had some one at our door to help. We had watched the TV the previous night so we knew it was in working order. We soon had our "Hockey Night" on!!! We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts - this allowed us to quickly eat and be on our way to our activities for the day. Check out was quick and easy!

This is a lovely hotel - clean, quiet and efficient. The only downside was the staff on the desk with the exception of the young gal. They were efficient but not smiling or friendly. Otherwise a great hotel.

Cons: We found that the breakfast room needed an attendant. Each day I had to ask for more of everything as the lone desk girl wasn't able to keep check.
Location: When your hotel has a lot of guests, it's a no brainer that there would be lots of folks for breakfast. Food was good but annoying when having to wait
We attended a badminton tournament in Brentwood and Cordova Bay so location was good. Room was clean and spacious but would have appreciated a fridge....which we asked for but never got.

Bed was uncomfortable. Quality of TV picture was shadowing. For a new TV I expected a good clear picture. Was difficult watching sports. Pub food was very good.

The hotel stay that didn't happenPosted Dec 28, 2014
I booked this hotel as I was coming.from Calgary, flying to Victoria to surprise my parents at Christmas. they didn't want to stay at the hotel, so we tried to.cancel upon check in, then we were told that it was booked through expedia so we would have to stay as it was already paid for. We went to out room and the beds weren't even made up so we told the front desk and that was the last available room. I'm still waiting for my refund. The staff was pleasant though.
