dissappointedPosted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Check-in took almost an hour after the receptionist learned we had booked online. She was not at all helpful in trying to locate our payment (that they HAD received). When we arrived at our room, the deadbolt did not operate and the toilet seat was broken. Maintenance promptly repaired the seat and we used a chair to secure the door rather than go through getting a new room. The air conditioning did not adequately cool the room (temps outside were in the 90s) and it was very warm in the afternoon. The next day, we did not receive any maid service, and when I called to let the front desk know, they only offered us towels. Other than these issues, the room was spacious and clean and there was good water pressure.

Tried to check in and they didn't even have my reservation. The hotel is hard to locate and very noise, anyway.

Needs a makeoverPosted Jul 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel at one time might have been very nice. Very nice ground and comfortable rooms. The bed was great with plenty of pillows and was comfortable. The air conditioning was very noisy. They advertise free wifi but it was very very slow and at times quick working all together. The hotel was not booked very full so I can't believe it was due to bandwidth usage. They also advertised free breakfast which was poorly stocked and had few quality choices.

Must have been a wonderful Hotel in it's days.Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: The landscaping and the gardens and its location.
Cons: the cleanliness of the bathroom, volume of the air-conditioner and covering up of the torn wallpaper.
Location: Location was perfect for us. Close to many restaurants.
Beautiful Landscaping and layout of the grounds. was somewhat disappointed in the condition of the room., but the beds were comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was the worst that I have ever seen.

Pros: The grounds are nice and it is a dog friendly hotel.
I have been staying at this hotel for over 30 years back when it was the Red Lion and I continued to stay there when Clarion took over. I have never in all those years had a problem checking in. I go to Sacramento to visit with my daughter. I arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock the girl at the counter said check in is at 3. I have always been able to get a room at 1. She would not even look to see if a room was available. I came back at 2:15 to see if we could check in yet. She then told me I did not have reservations. I gave her my comfirmation I printed out and told her that I called the hotel the Saturday before to comfirm. She just said I wasn't there that I had to take it up with Expedia. My daughter was on her phone calling Expedia and then she looked in her binder again for the 4th time and all of a sudden she says oh here you are. This all took awhile. It was very stressful thinking I was already charged for the room and was going to have to pay twice. I know it is not Expedia's fault but the rudeness of the registration clerk and the hassle I had to go through I am not sure I would reserve a room this way again.

Not many guests. Lobby and pool area were quite nice. Room was spacious and adequately clean. We were shorted on towels 3 of 4 days. Complimentary breakfast was so-so. Pool was great. Stairwells were shabby. Shower curtain was too short. Great location.

It's a fine place to stay - so close to Arden Fair Mall and the Cal Expo!
