Location: The motel was hard to find. Our gps took us right there......almost.
Some of the motel rooms did air conditioner did not work. However in our room, it worked quite well.

Pros: The landscaping and the gardens and its location.
Cons: the cleanliness of the bathroom, volume of the air-conditioner and covering up of the torn wallpaper.
Location: Location was perfect for us. Close to many restaurants.
Beautiful Landscaping and layout of the grounds. was somewhat disappointed in the condition of the room., but the beds were comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was the worst that I have ever seen.

Pros: The grounds are nice and it is a dog friendly hotel.
I have been staying at this hotel for over 30 years back when it was the Red Lion and I continued to stay there when Clarion took over. I have never in all those years had a problem checking in. I go to Sacramento to visit with my daughter. I arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock the girl at the counter said check in is at 3. I have always been able to get a room at 1. She would not even look to see if a room was available. I came back at 2:15 to see if we could check in yet. She then told me I did not have reservations. I gave her my comfirmation I printed out and told her that I called the hotel the Saturday before to comfirm. She just said I wasn't there that I had to take it up with Expedia. My daughter was on her phone calling Expedia and then she looked in her binder again for the 4th time and all of a sudden she says oh here you are. This all took awhile. It was very stressful thinking I was already charged for the room and was going to have to pay twice. I know it is not Expedia's fault but the rudeness of the registration clerk and the hassle I had to go through I am not sure I would reserve a room this way again.

We reserved and paid for 2 rooms, with King beds. When we got to the Clarion Inn to check in, they said they were sold out , they had no more king bed rooms, and they claimed that Expedia did not book a King bed but booked a double bed - even though I had written email confirmation from Expedia. They then asked us to move to their sister property next door called Sacramento Inn and Suites. We were given 2 rooms with queen beds. After waiting for a very slow woman to check us in - only 1 employee, we finally went upstairs to the 2nd floor to go to our room. In the hallways of the 2nd floor right near our rooms, were huge piles of dirty towels just laying in the hallways. then we went to try to open both rooms, and our swipe keys didn't work. so we had to go back down and now there was a long line, and still just 1 lady serving. She finally gave us another 2 keys each room, and when we tried it, only 1 key worked. The rooms were a good size, but the faucet in the bathroom was loose and broken. So we had to use the sink in the coffee area. One room had very poor aircondition, it was hot all night. All around, it was an awful experience. EXPEDIA I WANT A FULL REFUND!!!!!

Pros: Large room, good staff
Cons: Replace toilet seat, repair loose door handle, and towel racks.
Location: very close to down town and the expo center.
I booked a last minute room through Expedia for two beds at the Clarion. Upon arrival I was told that we had to go to the Comfort inn across town (where I'd just driven from), several other guests had the same problem and there was a long line of us at 11:00 at night. We did get a room and the staff were very good, the bathroom door knob was in the process of falling off, the toilet seat was old and had mold embedded in it and the mini fridge wanted to fall over every time we opened it. On the upside it was a suite and was likely larger than the room I had booked, and the staff were extremely accommodating.

The rooms were old. Not anything fancy. Very basic. The inside hotel grounds more than made up for it. Very well kept grounds. Nice pool and cabana. Good security at night around the place. We were provided breakfast at no cost to start our day at Cal Expo. We walked to Cal Expo through the Mall parking lot and saved on parking. Big Bang for our buck but not the Ritz.

We got the room on the first floor. There was some strange guys walked back and forth and another guy sitting inside the car blasting music. They were not friendly looking people. The worst was no AC, called front desk and said will send someone over to fix it. End up we waited two hours and called at least 4-5 times. Finally they switched us to other hotel.

Pros: The Courtyard in the center of the hotel was lovely
Cons: Most everything.
Room was very disappointing. It was dirty, old, and small. There was fresh paint on beat up walls. Only a shower. The table in the room was ready to collapse. It was horrible. I would have felt better in a Motel 6. The Sacramento Inn next door was was much more suitable.

WORST HOTEL EVER!!! Do not stay here!! Not in a good area not mention how old and gross the rooms were!! Can't believe we spent $90 for that crap....Motel 6 would've been better, and that's not saying much!!! Very unhappy about this stay!!
