Great location, great staff, run down facilityPosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: The building and cleaning staff
Location: Arden Fair mall, lots of restaurants
Let me start on a positive note. The staff is very friendly. The front desk employees and the marketing employee we met were very polite and tried to help. The location is great. Right off of the freeway and next to a shopping mall and plenty of restaurants to eat at. That's why we picked this hotel to stay at. Now for the bad. This hotel is very run down. They need to put a lot of money into it to get it up to snuff. We noticed as soon as we walked in the sad state of affair. For starter, an old square 1990's TV sat on the desk. The microwave was filthy and missing the glass plate. There was only a table on the patio, the two chairs in the advertisement were no where to be found. No couch, armchair, table or any place to sit other than the bed and a desk chair although there was an obvious empty corner where one was designed to go. That was at first sight. Then we tried to use the toilet. Plugged. And after walking out of the bathroom, we noticed the bottoms of our white six were now filthy. The bathroom floor was disgusting. No coffee for the coffee maker, poor maid service and loud families above just capped off the terrible experience. We will not be staying there again.

Going down hill.Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: The only reason this is not a 1 star rating are the following: the shuttle driver who has been there forever is a very nice man and felt horrible for
Cons: Everything but the shuttle driver.
Location: Arden Fair mall and CalExpo.
I have stayed here many times over the last 3 years, including when it was a Red Lion. Each visit is was worse than the last. despite perpetual construction it is shabby and feels like nothing has been been kept up for 10+ years. The laundry facilities are over priced. The WiFi was down for over a day. The staff neglected to call me about the shuttle being over 30 minutes late. Each time I talked to the front desk they said they would do something, call back, enter things into the computer and only 20% of the time did it happen. The restaurant food is bland and over priced. My room's floor had old cheese(???) mushed into the carpet. I will not be back, do not pay over $60 for a night here, they are over charging for second rate facilities and service.

Very loud heater, no tub, damaged front door. Otherwise clean and adequate. Poor access to this motel.

disappointmentPosted Nov 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
room was very cold and the heater did not warm it up at all .. my father is 88 years old and could not sleep at all due to coldness. When complained to front desk , he said he would have given us his small space heater. . Triped 3 times on way to room on the 2nd story outdoor rugs.. paid over $100 for a runned down hotel to cheap to turn on the heat

Convenient stop-overPosted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The facility is nice enough for travelers and has all the amenities included such as free wi-fi, free parking, and great location near major highways and restaurants and shopping. The immediate surroundings look a bit worn and could use a little paint job to give it more life rather than a drab feeling like it's being neglected. Excellent service and friendly.

A Real DumpPosted Nov 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
First off the good things: next door to Arden Mall. Well I guess that might be all. First bad sign it was deserted. Some rooms rented out weekly, so beware. Not a good sign. When I tried to check in nobody was present. After 15 minutes he did arrive, apologized, then took another 15 minutes to check me in. Got to my room, which was decent for the age of the hotel and price, but disgustingly dirty on examination. Thick layers of dust, unknown liquid stains on the bathroom floor, holes in the walls. Gross. Also, they claim refrigerators in the room, but no. If you request one and pay a fee they will bring one to the room. Awesome. So, wanted to have a drink, looked at the property map they gave me and found that all but one of the ice machines have been removed. Just one for the entire place and hard to find. Wandered around for 10 minutes, spotted the very nice maintenance guy who showed me where to find ice. That night I checked reviews and read the horror stories (on various sites). Warning to all, yes, the carpets are nasty and if you walk on them barefoot your feet will INDEED turn black! I was there for a convention, they had the restaurant sell us lunch if requested. Three hours later food never arrived. I guess they forgot, but they collected the money. I could go on for some time on why not to stay here, but will say this. For $20 per night more you can stay in 4 star hotel across the highway. Dont bother. This is a real nightmare.

The staff the first night was great. The outside traffic of people was not comforting at all. I wouldn't stay here again.

DONT EVER GO HERE!!!Posted Nov 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This place is a dump...Booked a $99 room got put in the back of the compound with the extended stay tweakers and druggies..second floor room, NO ELEVATOR (isnt there a law against that?) The room had a funky, chemical smell. Not acceptable, requested a different room. This room was on the first floor, but the television did not work. Room three was a downgrade to a single queen because that was all that was available, and i could not get a refund because i booked through EXPEDIA! Took the room, the tv did work, but the shower curtain was three inches too short, so the bathroom floor flooded damaging my overnight bag. then the door handle to the bathroom door fell off, then the shower control handle had to be figured out because the on off screw was bungled so once you got the water on, you could not turn it off or control the temperature. To cap it all off, the next morning, we discovered the coffee maker did not function, THE WORST HOTEL STAY IN MY 49 YEARS!!!
