Great place for short people.

The hotel is an adapted river boot. Being more than 5' 10" requires one to a bit alert in order to not hits one's head. I am not among the more alert. Otherwise a nice place. Room are VERY small. Great Air conditioning. Good breakfasts. Nothing is level. Be careful when walking.

Watch out for valet service.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Nostalgic feel.
Cons: "Forgetful" staff regarding valet fees. Valet was also rude.
Location: Lots to do in old town sac.
Had a room across from the front desk so you could hear every conversation. Our room window was next to the stairs and even when closed you could see into the room so every person who walked by our room was able to see into it. We could also hear their conversations. Upon check out the front desk did not tell us that the valet fee was charged to our room. When the valet got our car I paid him the advertised fee on the sign outside of the window and he took they money and walked away without looking at it. It seemed odd to me so I asked him if the hotel charged for the valet and he said they did. I'm not sure if they "forget" to mention that the fee is charged but the valet walked away pretty quick once he got the huge tip from me. I did get my money back but others need to be aware of this otherwise they are paying DOUBLE for parking.

Like taking a cruise - without leaving the dock!

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Location: The Delta King is in the heart of Old Town Sacramento and a short walk from the California Railroad Museum.
The Delta King has so much character and is lovingly maintained. Sacramento can get quite hot during the summer and the AC has trouble keeping up. Rooms vary in shapes and sizes so its worth making sure you get one you like. The front desk and restaurant staff were excellent, and the bar staff was very good but also short-staffed.

Fun experience

Posted Jun 27, 2015
My daughter and I went for a quick trip to the Capitol, and it was really fun staying in Old Town and on the Delta King. It was a hot day (105), and once the sun set, sitting on the balcony over the river was beautiful and a great way to end the day. We got the least expensive room, and it was basic & clean - I wish we could have opened windows and controlled the ac. The bathroom had old fashioned bathtub and my daughter thought it was really cool. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay!

Nice expirience

Very unique place to stay with lots of nice views...located close to the Capital right in Old Town. Getting the luggage to boat was a challenge...no carts to transport everything.

Totally cool to stay on board ship

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Food, walkability and service
Cons: Bar could stay open past 10
Location: Raley Field, Amtrak, bus and light rail station. Oh, and downtown Sacramento
If you're going to the Rivercats, this is walkable close to Raley Field. It's right in Old Sacto and close to the Amtrak station. Plus, it's really cool staying on board. Also, best home fries, anywhere. Don't miss breakfast.

Room comfort

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: The size of the rooms
Cons: I think it would be nice if the rooms had comfortable seats in the rooms. Now that I know a little about the Delta King I will return again.
Location: There was a lot of things to see in old Sacramento.
I really enjoyed my time there..Really enjoyed the pilothouse restaurant, I think they should put the prices in the menu.

Only one night but very nice

Posted Jun 3, 2015
Pros: It was very nice and clean.
Cons: The city view was not even close to a view of the city, it was just the sidewalk to old sac.
Location: There are plenty of restaurants and bars. There was a comedy club and little shops and also very close to downtown Sacramento.
My partner and I stayed only for one night but it was very nice and the staff was very pleasant. Both bathroom and room were very clean and the bathroom was very cute ! It was very old fashioned but everything else was very up to date. The only thing I found to be a bit of a let down was I paid for the "city view" room and it was anything but. Since the boat is down lower all we could really see from our window were the steps to old sac :-/ other than that it was a pleasant stay !
