Quaint historical hotel

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: I especially enjoyed the "old-fashioned" bathroom facilities. We had breakfast (our stay came with a complimentary breakfast) and it was very nice.
Cons: I would warn those who are a bit larger (in height or width) that these rooms, bathrooms, and doors, are quiet small being historically accurate.
Location: We saw a musical at the Sacramento Community Theatre (something we do regularly and enjoy very much).
I was absolutely thrilled by our night on the Delta Queen! I am a bit of a history buff, and despite it being renovated in the late 80s (it was half submerged for some time apparently), it was like stepping back in time! Do read up on its history before you go. I especially enjoyed the "old-fashioned" bathroom facilities. We had breakfast (our stay came with a complimentary breakfast) and it was very nice. Their homemade muffins were INCREDIBLE.

Got A Great Deal On Expedia

Posted May 8, 2015
Pros: Location and Deal
Cons: Needs to be updated and the wi-fi password given in their hotel info booklet was outdated.
Location: Plenty of things to do in Sacto and Old Sacramento is a great location to start out from.
We got a great deal from Expedia on this hotel. Finding a deal on the week-end is easy in Sacto but not so during the week days because of all the government activities associated with a state capitol. The public areas of the hotel are getting a bit shabby but our room was decent. Being on a riverboat, the rooms are small but adequate. We were going to a concert close by so the location was perfect and being a week day, very quiet. Also, after 8:00 pm, street parking is free until 10:00 am so that saved us some cash, as well as being able to park our car close by the hotel. I wouldn't pay full price to stay here but Expedia made it worthwhile.

The $22 parking fee for hotel guests must have been in the fine print when I made the reservation because it was a surprise when I got there.

Air Conditioner

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: The ambiance and convenience to Old Town Sacramento.
Cons: The consideration of staff to unforeseen inconveniences.
Location: Old Town.
I booked our stay many months in advance for an anniversary celebration with my wife. The air conditioning was not functioning the first night. Dinner was very unpleasant, as was sleeping. I overheard another couple bring it to the attention of staff. They were given a discounted rate for the inconvenience. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, one (cleaning lady) related she was very sorry and another (desk clerk) ignored me.

Sacramento Icon

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: History.
Cons: Wish they'd had a bit more of the history. Perhaps a one page summary?
Location: Old Sac has SOOO much to see and do. CSRM can consume a day easily!
Lovely time! Checkin was very professional. Room was compact, but that's what one would expect on a river boat. Yummy breakfast. Great restaurant for a special occasion dinner.

Very quaint on a refurbished river boat!

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Quaint, great restaurant and stay included very nice breakfast.
Cons: Having the rooms ready by 4 pm and not messing up on room charges.
Location: Great location in Old Town Sac; walking distance to restaurant, shops and capital mall.
Clean facilities, friendly staff, restaurant/bar very good. Rooms very small but to be expected as it was a refurbished river boat. Delayed in getting one of the two rooms available for check in by 4 pm. Receptionist made errors in charging for valet parking so we had to contact accounting next day to clear up. Despite receptionist error, staff was very helpful and friendly. We would stay there again.

Besonderes Ambiente

Posted Apr 1, 2015

Great location

Loved the nostalgia and originality of the rooms yet they had modern comforts. The turn down service with the chocolate was special and the complimentary breakfast was wonderful.
