We stayed at this Larkspur Landing location as a family of 4 for 1 night during the CIM marathon weekend.
Initially, we had confirmed a booking through Hotels.com for 2 rooms - upon arrival, the hotel only had one room available (though they acknowledged that the reservation was for 2 rooms and 4 people). The front desk offered no apology and seemed completely unconcerned about the issue and blamed Hotels.com for the error (which may have been true, but didn't do much for me in the moment). The manager was finally able to approve a larger room to accommodate us all, but charged an 'upgrade fee' and, again, no apologies were offered for the issue. They did not seem to have any alternative solutions had that room not been available since they were sold out.
I was anticipating the room to be somewhat 'dated' which is clear in the photos online, however I was incredibly disappointed at how little this property invested in basic amenities like shampoo/conditioner (attached to the shower wall), towels (thin, small, only 2 provided), pillows (LUMPY!), and lighting (dark).
I will admit that the cold breakfast bar was a pleasant surprise - high quality, well stocked, and timely. Aside from that I would have been hard pressed to find a bright spot during this stay.
Was it completely awful? No, it wasn't really that bad but I wouldn't say I left as a satisfied guest.
Would I come here again? Probably not, unless it was at a significant discount and my other options were limited.
