“Very Best of Bay City without being a franchise”
I first requested this hotel because I had been very tired of being in expensive franchise hotels that were overused. This hotel is much different. It was reasonably priced, very luxurious, clean in every aspect, and an overall joy to relax and put your feet up. Bottom line, if you are visiting the Bay City area without getting in franchised hotel that has hit and miss quality, choose this one. You will be pleased.
“Friendly service”
I was in town for my father's open heart surgery and needed a place to stay with short notice. I checked in late in the evening after a long day at the hospital and the girl behind the counter was very nice. The girl in the Player's Lounge was also very friendly and helpful. I was able to order dinner to take back to the hospital for the rest of my family. If I had one complaint, it was that our room was directly across from the ice machine and I was awaken at 6:45 am by a golfer filling his cooler full of ice.
“I had a very nice stay”
The price was right and the hotel was clean. I would recommend this resort. The free breakfast was real nice too! Nice place :) Debbie from Fair Haven MI
“Adequate for the money”
Never having stayed at any other hotel near Bay City I have nothing to compare to. I felt that there was a little deferred maintenance that should have been attended to. Also, while it was mostly clean in our room, areas such as the toilet paper roll and ledges around the tub surround, corners etc. were very dusty. Also, our card key stopped working on our third day and on our last day the bar lock on the interior somehow closed after we left. Upon returning we were unable to get in. Both times maintenance department was quick to solve the problem. In addition all days of our five day stay we returned to our room after dark and the lights on the long stairway were still off. Very dangerous! The continental breakfast was impossible to figure out and the choices were less than appealing to me. Future guests may want to know that it is a local choice for wedding receptions and guests of the wedding who stay there can be very loud after the festivities. Future guests may also want to know that the weather in Bay City is very unpredictable!
“Nice weekend stay”
Room dated but clean and well furnished. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ordinary but available omlette for $5.00 was excellent and came with hash browns. Worth the price.
“Needs alot of updating”
Unfortunately we were not impressed with this hotel. You can tell it used to be really nice many, many years ago but needs alot of updating. There were different wings of the hotel and it seemed like we were placed in the oldest. The walls in our room were cloth which had many holes in it and very stained carpets. My biggest problem with the room itself was the beds-the mattress was so old it was almost unbearable to sleep on. Our two kids did enjoy the pool area, which was nice. Overall though, I wouldn't recommend this to friends. Like I said, it could be very nice if it was updated.
“Beautiful! Looks like a castle!”
This hotel is awesome! Its easy on and easy off freeway, located in the middle of a restaurant mecca. Loved the beautiful old fashioned woodworking, and the lobby was very clean and grand. The continental breakfast was bountiful, including many choices for children and adults. Never ran out of food, and workers were always refilling trays. Room was beautiful. I loved the mirrored closet doors and the television was in a handsome armoire. Would definately stay here again!
“Wonderful & Priced Right”
Recently stayed over the 4th of July weekend. I've stayed at several hotels in the Bay City area when visiting family and since we spend most of our time at others homes....we spend little time in our room and we were looking for a clean, comfortable and inexpensive room. This place was perfect, it was all of the above and on top of that....it was quiet. The staff was more than friendly and even gave us a courtesy call about 15-20 min after check-in to see if we were satisfied. I'll be staying here for my future visits.
“Mike's review Bay Valley Inn”
I would stay here again. Very clean and spacious rooms. very nice indoor-outdoor pool which you can swim through via a canal.....with a 10 ft. deep end....very rare indeed these days! Have a dry sauna and fitness room. Have a nice lounge with nightly entertainment Thurs.-Fri. Also have a charity poker room which has action every night until 2am. If you are a golfer don't miss out on these excellent courses! A+ Mike
“Older hotel, but character”
The hotel was older, but had character. Our family had a quick stay, but enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. The breakfast was also nice. Although, the rooms were a bit on the small side.
