Excellent, relaxing for adults!

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Free parking under hotel.
Cons: They could build more of these throughout the Midwest.
Location: You can walk to just about everything from this hotel.
We loved this hotel. Nice, clean rooms. Each room on the 2nd and 3rd floor has a balcony - we asked for the river side. The hotel was quiet. Even though there were lots of other guests, when in our room, we never heard anyone. Breakfast was delicious - scrambled eggs, thick oatmeal, waffles, cereal, moist blueberry muffins, furit etc. During happy hour, they have complimentary wine and beer for the guests with fruit, cheese, crackers, and pretzels. Staff was excellent. A very nice touch was a small power strip located on the nightstand between the queen beds for our electronics. How great is that! No pool or things that attract children, so while we were there it was only adults. We loved that part! And although we love dogs, it was nice to not see any in this hotel. The Drury Inn for dog families is right down the street! Only 3 floors, so there were not a lot of people around. So relaxing - would definitely stay there again! I would love to see this become a chain of small hotels (hint hint to Bob Drury)

Really nice hotel

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: almost everything
Cons: Breakfast was good but could have been better.
Location: The town of Frankenmuth is very touristy. There is lots to do. Shopping at Birch Run Outlet is a short distance away.
This was our second visit and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good, although there could be more choices (ie, Bacon instead of sausage patties). We enjoyed the free cocktails and snacks from 5 to 7 p.m. Staff were great and very helpful. This place is a gem.

Comfortable hotel close to downtown Frankenmuth

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: We loved the large veranda at the back of the hotel that overlooked a small waterway with people boating. It was very peaceful sitting there.
Cons: Nothing - it was truly a lovely place to stay.
Location: We walked downtown a short distance away. My husband actually enjoyed watching a town baseball game with his binoculars while sitting on the veranda.
This hotel was more than we expected - very clean, free snacks, beer, & wine between 5-7. Excellent hot breakfast buffet in the morning, comfortable, large rooms

Excellent location, great breakfast & quality room

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: Location, unique decor, good breakfast and near river, parks and shops.
Cons: The parking ramp was steep and scraped the bottom of our car.
It was a delightful location right downtown near lots of shops and restaurants. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious. It was a unique stay right on the river with a balcony without being a chain. Very high quality overall.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Check in time. Should be 3:00 and not 4:00.
Location: The location is in the center of everything. Very convenient location.
Marv Herzog Hotel was a nice clean hotel. The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The place was very quiet. The breakfast was good with lots of variety to choose from.

GREAT place !

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: I liked that there was no extra charge for parking (which is underground and safe)
Cons: Nothing needs to be improved.
Location: Frankenmuth is very small, everything is in walking distance (2 city blocks each side of the hotel). Lots of little giftshops, good local wine & beer.
Wonderful hotel, unusually clean. Hotel is located right in the center of town on the main street. I found the staff very polite and helpful (the young lady behind the reception desk suggested a very nice restaurant within walking distance). The ONLY downside is that we like to sleep with the window open, starting at 5:30 A LOT of trucks come through town. They are quite loud, I recommend a paying a little more to get a room on the 'river view' side VERY quiet. Breakfast was very nice / coffee and juice were great. Overall a TERRIFIC place to stay.
