Dated and Dingy

Posted Jul 3, 2014
This hotel is very old and dingy. The bed was old and broken down. The room had a musty stale odor and there was a film on the hard furniture. The air conditioning ran all night even when it wasn't blowing cold air. The TV was an old tube style and the picture was terrible. This was the last time I'll be staying here. You're better off driving from a neighboring city or paying a little more for better quality!

You get what you pay for.

Pros: Location and front desk staff.
Cons: The swimming pool is open to the hallway making the whole facility humid and musty smelling.
Location: It's near shopping, golf, restaurants, tennis, and the county fair ground.
I've stayed at this location for the past two years because it is so close to my work destination. Both years the reservation did not show up in their system at check in. When I checked out there was also a problem. In both cases the front desk staff were more than helpful in resolving the problems but it just took longer than check in should. The facility itself is old and the decor hasn't been updated in years. It was the best price in a nice area though so it was fine for the short time I spent there. The room was clean and quiet. That's about all I really needed.

Ok

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: The looks , the leaking of the ceiling, the paint chips in the hot tub , walls and cleaner carpet
Cons: all
Location: I was glad to go to the casino 25 minutes away
The hot tub had scum in it. The sauna was dirty. I just didn't like the pool area.

DISAPPOINTED

Posted Dec 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
I am very disappointed in this pricey hotel. I am disabled and The clerk took 20 minutes to check me in. So I stood for that whole time. She them put me at the farthest end of the hotel and I had to walk out in the cold around 5 minutes to get the cart so I was able to carry my items in. the room was small. the beds was small and not of good quality. the bedding was to big and bunched up on the floor. I am only 5'5 and the top of the bed was only at the bottom of my knee

Great Hotel

Posted Dec 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
My stay great. The location was wonderful. It needs a little updating and more vending machines. the hotel is so big that camera's would make it more comfortable as in safety. I was very safe and knew I was but walking all the way to the other side to the vending area was a little creepy.

Convenient to the Midland Fairground & Group Stay

Posted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: Great gathering spaces for people to enjoy their time together, proximity to Midland Fairgrounds, refrigerator & microwave in room, breakfast included
Cons: Racketball court doors could be updated.
Location: Fantastic Location!!!! Super easy to find, close to Midland County Fairgrounds, Mall & Restaurants.
The hotel staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful! We really enjoy the open areas of the hotel - the pool, very comfortable lounge area around the pool, sauna & whirlpool. This was our 2nd year returning to the hotel during the equestrian team state finals and we recommended the hotel to the rest of our team as a comfortable, clean hotel that was close to the fairgrounds, had fun spaces for people to gather and was more affordable than many other hotels. We looked forward to returning based on our previous visit and were very glad that we did!

Midland Resort/Convention Center

Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: Close proximity to the event we were in Midland to attend.
Cons: Complete overhaul of the facilities to bring it into the year 2013.
Location: ?
Hotel was just ok. No problems encountered, and room was clean enough. Hotel is just very dated and could use a facelift. Windows foggy, musty smells, carpet stained, furniture very used.

Old, strange, and dingy.

Posted Sep 24, 2013
I stayed here for 1 night and was quite disappointed. Some people have said that the decor of the hotel was retro-I just felt it was old and tired. My bed had the old fashioned kind of bedspread, which I always remove immediately. I much prefer a bright white duvet that is washed between customers! Half the lights in my room did not work. The lounge was desserted at 10 pm and you could not order anything to eat. The bartender was friendly and welcoming.
