Close to the Dow CentrePosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had tickets to go to a concert at the Dow Centre and living on a budget the price for the hotel was a relief so we didn't have to turn arund and come straight home ( 3 hour drive) would stay again

The Northgate Motel was okay but I couldn't get past the terrible mold or whatever odor that was in the room. As tired as I was when I got back home I had to wash all of the clothes and beddings that I took with us to the motel because they all smelled like the room.

The room had a very stale odor. Amenities as in guest soap and shampoo was very meager. On the plus side, the room was equipped with a microwave oven as well as a refrigerator. The king size bed was terribly uncomfortable with respect to comfort as well as its worn out slope to the center. The heating/cooling unit worked but the controls were severely damaged. It was difficult to determine temperature control features as well as the various fan, heat, and cooling designations. You get what you pay for.

certainly not what we expectedPosted Jan 2, 2013
Old motel with old furniture and noisy heater. I would rate this to be 1 star, certainly not the star given on Expedia.

Stay away from this place.Posted Nov 14, 2012
Pros: Parking in front of doors.
Cons: Cleanliness, blood stains on towels.
Location: Reception was behind bullet proof glass..
To begin with, reception sits behind the bulletproof glass. That says something about the safety of the place doesn't it? Furniture was wore down and looked dirty. Mattress was with plastic coverage, which also says something about the cleanliness of hotel and typical guests. I was not sure if the sheets were dirty or just grey from age. But the most shocking thing was blood stains on a towel. And it was in a place where maid was not able not to notice it when placing them. Overall, I stayed there only one night out of three, even if I could not cancel it and booked a different hotel.

Unsatisfactory hotelPosted Oct 9, 2012
Location: in the boonies
First of all this hotel was quite a distance from my target stay location and I would not classify this as an Inn as it is very misleading. This is basically a 50's motel that has not been properly maintained. The heat did not work the second night and the sheets did not stay tucked into the bed due to flat sheets being used and plastic on the mattress & box springs. The bed squeaked every time you moved. There was a lot of banging throughout the night which kept us awake both nights. The booking indicated that breakfast was included but only appeared to be two types of cereal (which looked old). The so-called breakfast area was basically a shelf with the cereal on it, no bowls or cutlery, a toaster with no bread and a microwave. There were no seats which you would expect if breakfast was being provided. Also there were stains on the carpet and holes in the bedspread and there were no blankets on the bed only the sheet and the bedspread.

1. A little Old English furniture polish would cover a multitude of bruises. Breakfast that was advertised is non existent. Went to office at 7:30a.m. nothing there but cereal in 2 glass jars as seen upon check in. Went back at 8am and 8:30a.m. and still no breakfast. We ate on the road. The toilet never stopped running until we jiggled the handle forever. At check in, the owner acted as if he never had a reservation through hotels before. It took forever to get registered and then he changed rooms on us after all the wait.
