“Expensive, but worth it”

If you are going to Midland and want to treat yourself, go to The H. The hotel is owned by Dow Chemical so that Dow partners, consultants and affiliates have a nice, sophisticated place to stay. Those with the means who are part of the Midland community or are visiting it have also embraced the hotel. The lobbies and common areas are beautiful, rooms are clean and attractive, the cafe (Cafe Zinc) is a great place for breakfast, lunch or tea and a drink (or 2!) at the bar in the evening cannot be missed! It is also right downtown (although "downtown" is quite sleepy) and near a beautiful park with extensive paved walking, running and biking trails. We did not go to the elegant, trendy restaurant, Table, but wished that we could have. I went with my 2 year old daughter and we fit right in (she is unusually well-behaved and quiet for her age) but I would not want to go with more than one toddler or a baby. The hotel is more appropriate for couples, solo travelers, a single, polite child or older children. During the week, there was a lot of business going on at the hotel and a loud child (or children) would simply be too disruptive. However, if you have a couple of older kids, one younger well-behaved child, are by yourself or with one other, it is a wonderful place to stay. It is expensive for Midland, but I considered it as a way of treating myself during my stay in the area.

Not only was everything clean and neat, but the Cafe restaurant and Bar were both very nice and the food was excellent

“Always a nice getaway”

My husband and I try to head to the H Hotel at least a couple of times a year. The lobby and restaurants are beautiful. The rooms could use an update, but the featherbed and linens are wonderful! We don't even want to get out of bed! On our last stay, we told the man checking us in that we were there for our 24th wedding anniversary and he sent up a special treat to us. Delicious chocolate covered strawberries! The next evening we returned to our room to find two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies from the bakery with a card thanking us for our stay. It was a delicious as well as comfortable time!:)

Beautiful hotel, very well kept. Loved all the little extras; mints, cookies, lemonade & fruit in the lobby, just little touches that make you feel like it's a special ocassion. Great for business, couples, not as much a family atmosphere.

Truly a classy hotel. If this hotel was in Washington; D.C., it would $600 a night.

“Fantastic find”

Nothing to complain about here. I will use again. Only gave comfort a 4 because all hotels seem to hot to me but I kept it at 62 s.d they left it alone. Great restaurants, pool, exercise room, and location. Also free covered parking and bike rental. Located right downtown but close to river and bike trails.

Everyone kept saying it was like a botique New York hotel. Food, service, cleanliness, comfort, amenities, were superb. Would like every hotel I visit to be like this one.
