Generally excellent. This is a central hotel, right next to the railway station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very small but perfectly formed. The only problem was that I thought I had paid for the room in advance, on the website, and my confirmation said, 'payment collected', but the hotel said they had not taken payment, which turned out to be the case.

Once I managed to get my large car down into the secure car park (tight entrance). All the city's sights and attractions were in easy walking distance. A nice clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff.
I was last in St-Jean-De Luz over 40 years ago and came for the tuna festival held in July each year. The city although much busier now still keeps it's charm and typical Frenchness.
It was my wife's first visit and she was also impressed with the city.

This was one of the cleanest hotels/Apartments have ever stayed in and i work in a hotel the standard was great. It is well located only 5 min walk from the train station and 2 min from the main shopping streets. The perfect place to stay if you are looking to see france as the french do. I cant wait to return.

It is a self service apartment with very basic ammenities. The receptionist could not speak any English. I know that is not reason enough to be unhappy, but the manager got lost taking us to our room to fix the door! We had the distinct impression that it is not the best value for money accommodation. The area provides much to do in the summer, with wonderful beaches, harbours and marinas. Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz are fantastic and we regrettably found many nicer places to stay in these towns, especially Saint Jean de Luz. Would rather suggest staying there. Just book early, as it is very popular in summer.

Hotel Donibane in St Jean De Luz is a top class hotel, and a lovely place to spend your holiday in. It is just outside the town centre, easily within walking distance, I walked into town and back most nights of my week long stay. If you prefer to stay in, there is a very good swimming pool, in a lovely garden setting, and a very good restaurant, where you have a choice of a meal, or you can help yourself to a buffet, with many choices. The rooms are reasonably well furnished, and always kept very clean. The best thing about this hotel though, which I think is the most important aspect of any hotel, is the quality of the staff, they are all very efficent, most speak English well, and all very helpful and very friendly, always with a smile on their face. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anybody who is planning to visit St Jean De Luz and its surrounding areas.
