“Bates Motel of the Upper Midwest”
Where do I start? Upon Check In: No reservation was found in their system-good thing i had my Expedia confirmation as the only room they had left was a smoking room, no thanks (I was in town to run a marathon the next day). After bickering with the clerk i finally demanded they give me a room since there wasn't another car in the lot. The Room: As clean as an old room could be with dated bedding and a car freshener hanging from the exposed curtain rod. The Night: At 10 pm the people in the adjoining room were checking in-and i could hear them outside my "paper-thin" door. Everytime there room door opened and closed the walls would shake. Worst motel experience of my life. The only reason I even made the reservation wa becasue every other non-smoking room for 25 miles was booked. Should have slept in my car.
“Don't go cheap”
Check-in was fine but there was no ice machine you had to ask at the desk if you wanted any. The beds were hard and the carpet dirty. We were not comfortable at all and wished we would spent the extra money and gotten a room at a better place.
