Nice hotel with lots of amenities.Posted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: Appearance of the rooms, helpful and accommodating staff.
Cons: The shuttle service; I had to wait 1hr after my flight arrived due to the expectation of more people coming in - they never arrived.
Location: The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from malls and shopping. Beach is immediately available.
Only had a very short stay however, the room was nice. View of the beach was also appealing. Did observe the pool areas along with a small golf area. Access to the beach was immediate as the hotel is only about 100 yards away. Hallways were very quiet allowing for restful sleep.

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah -Beware the tour guidePosted May 27, 2014
Pros: The hotel staff were very fiendly and professional.
Cons: More accountability over their external vendors affiliated with the hotel.
Location: We were told there was alot of interesting things to see and do nearby, unfortunately we were unable to see these due to our terrible tour guide.
Hotel was nice and the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Only negative was the experience with the hotels tour guide. I would not recommend taking this trip at all. We were promised an array of activities by an experienced tour guide, for which we paid $160 USD for a half day tour. There was some confusion with the hotel whereby we assumed these were hotel sponsored guides, but it turns out they are third party vendors with no affiliation with the hotel. The guide that turned up spoke hardly any english, gave no guidance on the tour and did not visit 25% of the destinations promised before hand. We complained to the hotel afterwards who were very supportive and managed to agree with the tour operater for a partial refund which we were happy with.Only catch was that the tour guide then refused to come back to the hotel to deliver the promised funds and would not answer the hotels telephone calls. I must note that at all times the hotel staff were very professional and courteous.

A lovely holiday resortPosted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: The gardens are beautiful, the location right on a superb beach, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The main swimming pool is a good size, too.
Location: Dhofar is an interesting area - historically as well as geographically, and one of the main archeological sites is right next to the hotel.
We spent a week recently at the Crowne Plaza Salalah and enjoyed every aspect of our stay at this hotel.

Solid hotel, nothing extraordinaryPosted Feb 14, 2014
This is a good hotel in Salalah and I'd recommend it. Decent amenities for adults and kids. Clean rooms and good food. It's a good base with solid amenities for exploring this region of Oman. I would not pick this hotel as a destination in and of itself. Of all the good hotels it's the most centrally located. The Hilton is pretty far out of town and looks onto an industrial area and the Marriott is very far. This is your best option for a mid-level (or greater) hotel in Salalah.

Mismatch between my booking & ExpediaPosted Jan 12, 2014
Cons: Get the staff to be more customer focussed.
Location: easy access to sites relevant to Salalah.
I had booked B&B through Expedia but the hotel got room only instructions. This caused me great embarassment and feel very unhappy. I will think twice again before I use Expedia. Kind regards.

Salalah Crown - AWESOMEPosted Dec 3, 2013
Pros: The Food, servers, and overall quality were great
Cons: nothing I can think of
Location: Salalah is a phenomenal venue with many cultural and archaeological opportunities to explore
The Hotel is like a cruise ship that doesn't need to go anywhere. All the best of the region is already there.

Overall satisfied with choosing Crown Plaza . With the location being close to the airport and city centre being advantageous compared to the other hotels.

AMONG THE BETTERPosted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: Very comfortable rooms, beds, parking, facilities, etc.
Cons: Ventilation in the bathrooms.
Location: Excellent beach and Salalah is picking up in terms of standard urban offerings (international restaurants, etc.)
Although somewhat older, the property has a lot to offer and is in a great location. The beach is excellent, but there is no swimming between late May and early November due to the Khareef (monsoon) which, for Arabs, is the best time to come to Salalah to escape the heat and enjoy the green hills. The hotel itself was very nice and the staff was very attentive and did not hesitate to go the extra mile when asked.

Great LocationPosted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: The location and the barbeque/buffet
Cons: Having a room in the basement
Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings right on the beach. However I would have preferred a room on a floor other than the basement. I would also have liked my draft beer served in the correct glass Stella in a Fosters glass is sloppy for a five star hotel.
