Good Location Between North Spain & Algarve

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Very good sized room, lots of space, comfy beds, huge bathroom (could have held a party in it). Reception very helpful and obliging evening & morning
Cons: We were late, snack food very basic, ham and cheese toasty and that was it.
Location: Did not really get the opportunity to check Salamanca out as we were in transit. View of the hotel to the cathedral looked amazing though.
We used the Parador as a transit hotel on our journey down from Santander to the Algarve, it is a very nicely appointed hotel, would stay again but next time might consider staying an extra night as the towns seems to have appeal and historic features so would enjoy a mouch around.

Stunning hotel, wonderful stay. Thank you to all the staff for their great, friendly, service and patience with our poor grasp of Spanish. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great view and location

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Fantastic breakfast. Air conditioning.
Cons: Tennis courts looked in need of a bit of attention. We only stayed for one night, but had we stayed longer, we would have liked to have used them.
Location: Only 15 minutes walk over the bridge to the cathedrals, and 20 minutes to Plaza Mayor.
We are a family of 2 adults and a 10 year old boy. The room was a good size with decent wifi and plenty of sockets for recharging devices. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The view from the terrace was fantastic. The pool was great.

More 'Business' than 'Parador'

Posted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Whilst the location and accommodation were fine this had the impersonal feel of a business hotel, unlike most other Paradors. It was clean, comfortable and served its purpose for a one night visit but don't expect the sparkle of other Paradors - or the quality of food.

Parking close to the old city

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: Location, free parking and the restaurant.
Cons: Only a full breakfast was offered. Could do with a light option.
Location: Located across the river near the Roman bridge, it gave easy access to the old city.
We chose this hotel because of the free parking close to the old city. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk into town over the Roman bridge. The restaurant in the hotel was also very good.

Food prices

Posted May 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
Price of food is on the high side compared to other 4 Star Hotel in the area. The view from the hotel is fantastic since you are looking at Salamanca City proper and the cathedral

Good for travelling by car

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Choose the Parador as it had good car free parking on the edge of Salamanca. It's a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral from the hotel across the Roman Bridge the path isn't lit at night but the hotel lights give off enough to be able to navigate. Good size room and bathroom would recommend the hotel. Only warning would be breakfast at 18 Euro is excessive.

Location is not ideal, but you do get the view.

Restaurant is adequate but not brilliant. All other facilities are excellent.
