“High quality hotel with a few minor flaws”

The hotel staff were very helpful. They spoke enough English (if that is important) and were very friendly towards children. When we needed a Taxi, it was there very quickly. I thought the rooms were well equipped but did not appreciate the smoke detector that blinked two red lights, every 15 seconds, right above the bed. I was also disappointed on my first stay that I was put on the first floor. This is half smoking and half unsmoking. As a non-smoker, I did not enjoy the smoke smell coming into my room from the other rooms. On my second stay, I requested the second floor which is all non-smoking. The internet access was fantastic. It didn't require a password and it didn't block large pages. We traveled into the city of Salamanca a couple of times and each time, we chose to take a taxi as I was a little intimidated by driving in and finding parking.
