"Madrid"
A 3 night / 4 day stay in Madrid. Our first visit and it will not be our last. The city is very easy to navigate either by foot or on the metro. The Madrilenos are friendly and as one of our goals was to practice our Spanish they were patient and clearly spoken and more than wiling to help us get it right. While it is important to visit all the tourist sites we prefer to eat and drink with the "real" locals wherever we go. On the whole we achieved this and had some wonderful food and very reasonably priced wine. We found the service in one restaurant in Plaza Mayor rather off hand and the food not cheap nor more importantly good.

The hotel is very well situated, not too near the town center (no nightime disturbance) and still close enough to walk to the town center. Great room, clean. Breakfast was excellent, good variety of food. Staff was very helpfull. Will certainly go back.

"Excellent hotel close to shops and restaurants"
Stayed here for 5 days with my husband and found it to be a reasonably priced, well situated hotel. The room we had was on the 7th floor and was extremely quiet. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on the food, but the bar is very relaxing after a long day out and about. I would definitely recommend it and we would use it again.

"Great hotel"
Stayed here for 4 days in early July. Very close to Avd. De America metro station which is on several major lines. Friendly English speaking staff. Great "American" bathroom with "real" shower (rainfall), not like I've had in other European hotels. Wife said they also had a 'real' American blow/hair dryer like they have in the states; (which I guess is important). Only complaint is bed is a little stiff and I wish they provided more than one pillow per person. Other-wise a great price for a great hotel/location.

"Very Nice Hotel with Modern Amenities"
We stayed for a few days and had a excellent stay. The staff was very kind and watched our bags before and after we checked in and out. The internet was fast and the room was modern, comfortable, and clean. It was a half hour walk from downtown with the festive nightlife, with more local spots close by. Very enjoyable.

Pocket Guide: Salamanca, Madrid Business Hotels

North of the Retiro, Salamanca has always been an affluent neighbourhood. Its grid-like streets and beautiful houses sprang up at the end of the 19th century, escaping from the old city walls. Today, ladies who lunch drop into its spas and designer shops, many of which line the long, sleek Calle Serrano. The National Library and the Museum of Archaeology are close to the Plaza de Colón.
