"7 days in Madrid"
We spent 7 days visiting Madrid travelling both on foot and metro. We found the hotel to be conveniently located for tourist, comfortable, stylish and with a generous breakfast array. The hotel is in a vicinity of fresh food market, classy shops and good eating options.

"Nice hotel."
Nice hotel. I did not care for the location compared to the other place I stayed in Madrid on this trip. I didn't find any good restaurants nearby and the streets seemed a lot dirtier around this area versus near the Bank of Spain metro stop, for example.

"Comfortable Hotel, Great Breakfast, Good Location"
Room was comfortable and clean. We could have used a little more storage space. There were no drawers and just a few shelves in the small closet to put our non-hanging clothes on. We stayed for a week and this was a small issue. The breakfast was excellent and was available until 1030 in the morning, 1100 on the weekend. The metro station was only a couple blocks (less than 10 minutes) away. The center of madrid (Plaza Major) is about 5 stops on the metro. To get from the airport we took the number 200 city bus to the Avenida de America bus station ("Intercambiador") and then walked the four blocks to the hotel. It's an express bus that only makes a couple stops along the way. The price is one and a half euros, paid on the bus. (A taxi costs 30 euros)

Pocket Guide: Madrid Salamanca NH Hotels

North of the Retiro, Salamanca has always been an affluent neighbourhood. Its grid-like streets and beautiful houses sprang up at the end of the 19th century, escaping from the old city walls. Today, ladies who lunch drop into its spas and designer shops, many of which line the long, sleek Calle Serrano. The National Library and the Museum of Archaeology are close to the Plaza de Colón.
