An historic hotel in the heart of historic SalemPosted Dec 6, 2013
The hotel is on the common, and walking distance to The House of Seven Gables and Peabody-Essex Museum. It's a lovely and friendly place to stay.

Nice hotel, convenient locationPosted Dec 1, 2013
Location: Shopping, witch house and other historical sites. Easy drive to other lovely north shore communities.
We enjoyed a quick overnight stay while visiting family for Thanksgiving. The room was small, though advertised as such. Would have been ideal for one person. A little cramped for two but manageable and the price was right. We did not stay for dinner but there was a huge buffet with a nice crowd. Suspect it was delicious.

Classic hotel experience, very charming!Posted Nov 4, 2013
Location: Near to all downtown Salem has to offer and 10 minute walk from the commuter rail station in Salem
A classic hotel experience the likes of which you don't often see anymore. Excellent, friendly staff. The room we reserved was a smaller one, but it didn't take away from the experience. A charming hotel experience. Look forward to staying there again and would recommend.

Great Hotel, close to everything .Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: We enjoyed the worm friendly atmosphire not only in the Hotel it self but also in the resturant(food was great) and the Bar.
Cons: I would not change anything.
Location: The hotel is in the hub of Salem and we could walk to just about everything we wanted to see. The museums, the People and the small shops were great.
The Hawthorne is a worm, careing place with all the amenaties at hand. Check in was quick and simple. The room was clean and well supplied with our needs. What ever we asked for weather it was a pillow or food or just information, it came quick or you got an answer no questions asked.

Beautiful hotelPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: It had a calm and relaxed air about it and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Location: The hotel is located centrally and only a few minutes walk away from the harbour and also beside the park. There is a witch museum nearby.
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel and the best breakfast ever at any stay in the USA. Beautifully kept and staff very pleasant with rooms still retaining their original look and very comfortable.

Quaint old fashioned hotelPosted Oct 5, 2013
Lovely staff, very clean and comfortable but rather dark and gloomy.
