So very disappointed. Hotel was under construction; no restaurant, no gym, not any of the extras experienced at Halloween. Staff not friendly or helpful. Housekeeping basically only makes your bed. Not at the service or high quality experienced in the past. Will certainly try other places for next trip. TV had minimal services during the week. No streaming, no gaming, internet sketchy with phones. Over weekend TV was up to full capacity. Booked room with water view was told only King bedrooms get a water view. Vending machine was broke, tons of sodas were at the bottom blocking and one from obtaining their purchase. Very disturbing for a blind convention attendees unaware of where their purchase went. Reported to a Crystal who refunded our funds. She was consistently more professional & helpful than other staff. No directions provided at checkin no book left in the room for guidance on hotel policies. Lacked the friendliness I've come to expect at this hotel for the price you pay. Bragged to friends it was the best in all of Salem but truly disappointing. Hotel had about 3 months to warn us they would be under construction but failed to update us that service would be limited. Based on the lack of cheer the staff presented one can only assume they are unhappy and not treated well by employer. Curious if their are new owners. Was very bespoke in the past now just a typical Sheraton vibe.

This was one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Decor was so nice, new, and clean! Great location to walk to everything in Salem. I will stay here when I return.

House keeping left our door ajar and unattended for hours, room service orders were wrong, they forgot to give me the breakfast voucher, indoor pool was closed all weekend with no explanation or anticipated opening date, coffees not restocked in room, renovations on floor above us without informing us or posting on website, plus other things I could nit pick but I don’t have too. Over all, terrible and expensive stay considering no amenities were available.

The location is great. The day staff at the desk was great,as was the restaurant staff. The night staff at the desk, not so much. The heater in the room was nonfunctioning (it ran but you couldn't control the temperature, so it just blew cold air). We were also forced to park offsite, even though I have a handicap permit. Overall, we will not return and I cannot recommend.

The remodeled room was wonderful. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance, even though we had called to check it would be open before booking 2 days prior to our stay. Kids were happy just playing in the room.

We enjoyed our stay. Superb location, can walk to many of the historic sites the city has to offer. Staff was welcoming and kind. Room was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Enjoyed the pool! Would have liked a mini-fridge & microwave in the room. We missed having access to a complimentary tea/coffee bar in the lobby area. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Will stay again (and bring our cooler ;)

We have stayed twice off-season but on Holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. The facility is nicely managed and the room accommodations are above par - recommended.Salem is a walking town and many pleasant things are around. Many, along with good dining opportunities, are close by (walking). It is a solid place.

Annual Trip To Salem
My wife and I use Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites when we visit Salem, going on 10 years now. We tried a few other areas to stay, however Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites always has clean comfortable rooms, excellent location for walking to and from everything going on in Salem, friendly staff, a nice pool, easy parking, and nice restaurant and bar on premises. I have recommended them to others when they visit Salem.

I booked this hotel for a business trip when I arrived. You couldn't move through the lobby and upon arriving in my room. You could not adjust the heat. And there was a portable space heater in my room that you could not adjust. The temperature settings on we ordered room service and 45 minutes after ordering. We had to go pick it up ourselves at the restaurant. Because nobody was going to check the orders after the kitchen left for the evening although the bar was still open. In room service was still available. For how much I paid for this would not come back.

The hotel is living on the location
The second night,Friday, there was a function which overflowed into the lobby- do you want hotel guests exposed to groping and fondling, in the lobby? We could not get into the pub for a drink and food. We had to leave the site.i called the front desk at 11:30 to ask what time the cacophony would end. I was immediately told the pub closes at 1:00. The band stopped soon after my call. We should have been told about the party, music and given the opportunity to move rooms or leave. Friday we went to the pub for breakfast, 8:00 and was greeted with “it’s early for breakfast”. We witnessed the only other guest in the pub be rudely spoken to. Two elevators- one out of service and the other not working efficiently. Sure glad there was no emergency. No signs for the stairs were visible. The hotel in general is well worn and in need to upgrades. We had planned to be back for Monday night but canceled. The gentleman at the front desk was attentive and provided a token refund which did not change our minds. He was an oasis in a quagmire.

An Excellent Stay
Overall, an excellent stay, with friendly staff, very nice accommodations, comfortable room and amenities. With an excellent bar/restaurant on the premise, how can one go wrong? The food at the Salem Waterfront's restaurant was excellent, with very large portions. Walking distance to all the Salem "must-sees," and right on the waterfront, which is a great place to walk and take in the sea air. We certainly recommend a stay.
