Great staff and location but not a 5 star hotel as claimed. The standard of the room and overall hotel decor and breakfast would have to be increased significantly to be a 5 star but then they are not charging 5 star prices. Overall I would highly recommend it for the price.

Lovely, authentic, comfortable

This is a destination hotel. Mauricio, at the reception, as well as the hotel chef, were very warm and accommodating. Breakfast featured many fantastic local items and flavors and handmade pastries. My only suggestion is that they find a way to make the roof-top jacuzzi hot enough.

Good 4 Star Hotel

Posted Apr 22, 2009
Very nice small hotel staff only too eager to help, convienent for restaurants & bars. However its portrayal as a 5 star hotel is just stretching it a bit.Parking big problem the hotel don't have any.No restaurant, jacuzzi on the roof garden it was closed,no other facilities to bring it up to a 5 star.Breakfast was OK but we have had better choices at other hotels,we could not get boiling hot water for our tea.To be fair our stay in Otranto was out of season there was very little open and very few people around most bars etc closed up.The room did not help matters room (27)on the first floor next to lift & leading to the breakfast room. From early morning (6am) the smell of toast being made and hot water dispenser being used disturbed our sleep and occasionaly during the day other guests or staff can be heard going about their business, although never outrageously noisey it was irratating enough to disturb any peace and quite if trying to rest. The room was also overshadowed by the upper floors and other buidings ajacent so even though their was a small balcony we would not have been enticed to use it if it had been hotter.I don't know if any of the rooms actually manage to give you a view of the harbour but I can only imagion it to be quite limited.Because of the exchange rate and the weakness of sterling at the time the overall cost ended up being quite expensive.
