“clean and OK for the price”

This is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it was clean and felt safe, despite some of the other reviews. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and the pool was shared with a health club, but nice and big compared to other hotel pools I have seen.

“Scary Hotel - Avoid”

Avoid this Hotel. It is run down, not maintained, falling apart. Our room looked as though the door had been pried open in the past. The back porch had an empty beer can left from previous guests. It looks like the kind of place where illegal activity happens. Steer clear.

“Americas Best Value Inn Abilen”

It would be important for the hotel to develop friendly customer service. Also, the toilet in the room did not flush properly, you had to hold the handle down in order for it to work. They would do well to get rid of the dandelions in the yard and take better care of it.

Area recommendations
This motel is right off the interstate, I drove right by it and had to drive back. As far as travel convenience it is close to the highway. The city sights are directly South of it.
Must see
The Eisenhower Center (Museum, Library, Childhood Home, Chapel, and Shop are great. Across the street is the County Museum (with Telephone History and Historical Telephones) was great. There were other museums that would be good to see, but I was not there long enough. The people are really very nice there in Abilene. There is a Grocery Store there that does exceptional hor d'oeuvres for receptions.
