A clean room in truckstop row

We don't look for fancy - we look for convenient, comfortable and clean overnight accommodation, with wi-fi. And we found what we wanted at this HOJO. The friendly owner and his wife made sure that we were not obliged to climb stairs - which is hard for my wife. The "neighbourhood"? This place is in hotel and truckstop row. Without sidewalks, going for a walk after a long day's drive was not totally comfortable. But the hotel itself was perfectly satisfactory, given what we wanted.

This is an OK hotel for the money. We liked the clean room. Breakfast was not fancy but OK. Some of the doors were hard to open and a little broken down. But overall it was what I expected.

The room was dingy and smelled. The sheets and blanket on the bed were badly stained, although I am pretty sure they were at least clean. I don't expect much for $55 a night, but a clean looking and smelling room would be nice. I will not be staying here or at a Howard Johnson again.

Quick stop while moving. Easy check in. Friendly people. Room was clean but heating system was very noisy. Old air conditioning unit sitting on one of the tables at breakfast time. Coffee was out. I made another pot myself. There was mold under the caulking in the shower and the shower head was about 5'5" tall.

Staff was unfriendly, gave us a dirty room, reassigned another room where the dead bolt was busted out, very unclean environment and no feeling of comfort. It was too late to make a fuss and debate about a refund. Was very unsatisfied! I thought Howard Johnson was a better hotel! That place needs to be remodeled or condemned!

I was fine for a place to sleep. Bed was comfortable. Refrigerator stuck when opened. Loved the HOT water for a shower.

The room smelled as soon as we entered. The top lock on door was broken and had been kicked in at some point. My husband had asked for a 1st floor room and was told they were all taken even though there were only 6 cars in the whole place. Then the toilet seat fell off and a black hair in tub. GROSS describes it well

Creepy, creepy hotel and front desk lady.

Very disturbing lady at the front desk. When I checked in and reminded her that I had a dog, for ten minutes, she gave me the run around on not being able to charge my card since I had already paid online. After she wouldn't take my debit or credit card, she insisted on cash. She asked about size of dog which she didn't understand and wanted to charge me $20 for my 35lb dog since she considered that a large dog. Poor understanding of English and communication. After getting my key and unloading my luggage into the hotel, I let my dog out of the car on a leash to do her thing only to find the lady outside staring at us for the five minutes we were outside. When I asked her if there were any issues, she asked me if my dog bites. I told her no and asked if there was an issue. She finally said no and I went straight to my room. Room was poorly maintained and I was given a handicap room with no warm water and a shower head that kept falling down. Horrible hotel and I will never stay here again. Just the experience with the front desk clerk was very creepy and disturbing - I did not feel safe in that hotel.

I was there for business and tv interviews in wichita for my book, Super Brain: Maximize Your Brain health for a better life (details at superbrain-thebook dot com). The hotel was convenient for my needs; clean; accomodating staff; next door hotel under construction and my view was pretty industrial. Is right next door to largest Western Wear Store -- check it out!
