“Basic, cheap”

Met my priorities: clean, wireless internet, location (Interstate and Abilene's main drag), restaurant within walking distance (happens to be built into a bowling alley, which was entertaining), cheap, free cont breakfast. Absolutely no view or charm. Basic.

“Traffic noise NOT a problem!”

I was a little concerned about having a room on the back side of the hotel nearest to the highway after reading the reviews about traffic noise. However, it was not a problem. I could hear the traffic if I pulled back the curtains and listened really closely, but that was all. Clean and comfy are my requirements, and they were met very well. Thanks.

With family living in Abilene, I stay here from time to time. Have stayed in another hotel, and much prefer Super 8. Generally what you would expect from an older hotel. Towels and linens a little thread bare, but overall my needs were met very well. I will be staying here in the future.

“Easy to find and access”

I made two trips to Abilene Kansas to visit my brother. The first time I had a good visit with him and the Motel was close and convenient. He passed away after I had returned to Colorado and I returned for a memorial service. The Motel was convenient and I had a good stay.

hotel needs some updates,the floor first. i guess the hotel was fine for a super 8

There aren't many hotels in Abilene so this looked like one of the best in area. We killed 3 spiders in the room. Didn't like bathroom setup. Had to walk down stairs to the 1st floor. Air conditioning hard to control. It was cold, colder and coldest! Did provide complimentary breakfast. No other place in town was open except McDonald's. If visiting Abilene in the future, would stay in another town and come to Abilene for the sites.

“Not impressed”

There was no ice bucket in the room. Waited 15 minutes in the lobby while they located an ice bucket. The ice machine was located in the lobby. My room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. The clock was unplugged and did not work when plugged in.

“never anouther super 8”

This was the last Super 8 for us. It seems their franchise agreements are not strong on Maintenance or rehabbing of properties that are long in the tooth. The carpets were dirty the linnens were threadbare. The lighting was Dim. In fareness Im sure there not all bad. Our daughter and her husband spent an extended stay at a propery Missouri and were very satisfied.
