Amenities included in the rate are the Welcome Center, Mountain Top Lookout, fitness center, tennis court, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing equipment, mountain biking, hiking trails, beach chairs and beach towels. Amenities available for an additonal fee are pre-arrival grocery stocking, airport transfers, boat tours, Spa Treatments including massages, manicures and facials are available in your villa or poolside for an additonal fee. In addition to Private Plunge Pools at each villa, Recreo provides access to a secluded beach. Recreo also offers a concierge and multilingual staff. Airport transfers and transportation to local excursions is available for an additional fee.

Costa Rican cuisine is full of culture, tradition and flavor. Staples include rice and beans, fruits, and vegetables. The food is not particularly spicy but rather seasoned with natural herbs, most commonly cilantro. There are a few local options for dining out within 5 to 25 minutes of Recreo. There is a grocery store in La Cruz which is on the way to Recreo about 25 minutes away. Grocery stocking can be arranged for an additonal fee. Guests can enjoy dining either indoors in the main dining room of their villa, poolside or on adjoining patios.

The Villas at Recreo are located near the city of La Cruz in the North Pacific Guanacaste region of Costa Rica only 1 hour 30 minutes northwest from the Liberia airport overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Bahia Salinas. Playa Rajada is 5 minutes by car or a 15 minute walk from most villas. Isla Bolaños National Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes from Recreo in Bahía Salinas where it was established to protect nesting sites for Brown Pelicans and Magnificent Frigate birds and is a favorite spot for bird enthusiasts. Recreo is located just 20 minutes from the Nicaraguan border and day or overnight trips to Granada or San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua are popular. Rincon de la Vieja Volcano is also a popular day trip from Recreo. At this National Park, guests can observe evidence of the country’s volcanic activity: mud baths, geysers, caverns, natural saunas, steaming baths and hot water lagoons. Guests will find activities ranging from canopy and zipline tours, white water rafting, horseback riding to the waterfalls, hiking, rock climbing and relaxing in the thermal waters and healing mud. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

The staff at Recreo can arrange for spa treatments offered poolside or in the privacy of each villa. Services include massages, manicures, pedicures and facials. Hair and makeup services are also offered for weddings or other special occasions.

Government-issued photo identification and a credit card or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges.

Reservations are required for spa treatments. Reservations can be made by contacting the resort prior to arrival, using the contact information on the booking confirmation. Children 6 years old and younger stay free when occupying the parent or guardian's room, using existing bedding.
