“clean hotel with pleasant staff”

Right off of Hwy 101, the Laurel Inn Motel was perfect for a place to rest my head. We had an event to attend at the Steinbeck Center and its a 5 minute drive. The beds were a bit firm and the bedspreads a bit dated, but everything looked clean and in good condition. Free breakfast in the morning then an easy entry back onto Hwy 101.

Area recommendations
The Steinbeck Center in Salinas is in the old town and makes a nice afternoon.

“Great Value”

We were pleasantly surprised to find this clean, well-maintained motel at such a reasonable price. The rooms were refurbished and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the adjacent restaurant served filling breakfasts. We will definitely stay here again.

“Good basic hotel -- one of the better options in Salinas”

The Laurel Inn is a good basic hotel. The room was large and clean, but sparsely furnished -- beyond the necessities, there was only a small round table to set up my computer on. The chairs at the table were not well suited to doing any kind of work from, so I was not very productive during the time I'd hoped to work. The hotel does have wireless internet included in the rate and I had no problems with that service. I know Salinas very well and this hotel does represent one of the better options in town. The Black Bear Diner is adjacent to the hotel and it offers good, reasonably priced meals.

“Will stay here again!”

I was impressed with the Laurel Inn. It is located right off of the freeway and only blocks from a shopping mall and several popular restaurants including a good restaurant next door. The hotel was clean and comfortable and we would definately stay there next time we visit family in the area.

Family-friendly activities
This area has great golfing and beautiful beaches. There are several shopping malls and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Don't miss the aquarium or the scenic 17 mile drive.

“An Affordable And Pleasant Place”

The staff was very helpful upon check in assigning me a requested ground floor room where I could park in front. The young lady who checked me in also ran off directions to a place for dinner and my destination the following day. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

“Wonderful experience”

The owners of this lodge went out of their way to make sure every detail was addressed at the wedding/reception/overnight lodging event. An older lodge right on beautiful Blue Lake. The large room was squeaky clean, plenty of towels, great hair dryer. Very pleasant stay. My only negative was that the mattress was too firm/hard and not comfortable for me.

“Will be coming back next year”

The hotel was nice and location is better than expected. Very close to the freeway. The front desk people were very helpful. Getting to my destination was easy and better than the other hotel I'd stay at and is much cleaner. Will come again next year.

“A great stage between LA & SF”

Very close to the 101 but not noisy at all. Everybody was very kind, very professional, the included breakfast is great, you even can fill your thermos of coffee at the reception when you check out; the pool is heated, there's a sauna and a spa. A very good typical american restaurant in front. A great stage when you travel on that road, a 3* service in a motel.

“Good place to stay for the money”

We enjoyed our stay. Our days were spent at Spirit West Coast, but the hotel was comfortable in the evening. Breakfast was well stocked and the employees were friendly. Many restaurants and shops available on Main Street just minutes away.

Family-friendly activities
We really enjoyed Dennis the Menace park while sightseeing in Monterey.
