It's always a pleasure to stay at Royal DeCameron. Security, a variety of dining options, family friendly, etc. However, if you have a light sleep, it'd be a little hard since there's music until about 2 am (at the disco) and people start working very early. Thus, if they'd invest in room isolation, that would be great. Moreover, I don't recommend leaving your valuables without security. Use the safe or carry your lock if you don't want to have a bitter experience.

The beach was nice. The bathroom was old an unsafe. Also in the dining area there 3 big cats running around loose as they pleased. That was disgusting for me. I did not know they would let cats run aorund looking for food in the dining area. This was very unconfortable for me.

I would recommend this property property for families and/or traveling with friends. Check in time is 15:00 hrs (strictily) so it is advisable to book flights accordingly. Transportation from Guayaquil Airport to Punta Centinela is 2 hours and there is Decameron counter at the Airport where you can book transportation. The staff is friendly and willing to help, the A/C of my room did not work and I was moved to a better room. Pool activities are as expected for all inclusive resorts, two pools available and overall good. Beach facilities are really good and beach bar is just on the beach, cocktails are acceptable and beer is also available. I would suggest to improve drinks in the other bars as same cocktail taste really different from the beach bar. Breackfast is really good specially omelettes. The buffest overall is good with different healthy options (grilled vegetables, cuscus, no sugar drinks, etc). Restaurants for dinner are ok, I would suggest the Mediterranean restaurant. Our overall expreience in Roya Decameron Punta Centilena was really enjoyable, as I said I would recommend for short time stays or traveling in family / friends plan.

You can only go into the lobby during check in tim
The check in was not as pleasant, we got dropped off at 2:30, I knew that check in was not until 3:00, our trip from the city took us over 2 hours, we were told that the taxi could not bring us in and we needed to wait until 3 under the hot sun,I asked if we could use the bathroom and wait in the lobby, we were told that there were too many people in the lobby, I had never heard of this, I was not asking for the key to the room just needed to be in a waiting area like decent paying customers not like someone who was not paying for the room, finally security gave the okay for me just to go in and use the bathroom, after speaking to someone in security we were able to wait in the lobby. I have visited resorts all over the world and never had this experience .

Great beach and pools
On a positive note, the facility was very clean and the beach was beautiful, along with the pools. The dinners in both specialty restaurants were very good. As Americans w/ some Spanish knowledge at times it was very difficult to communicate. Not many speak English. We went on fabulous tours with the help of Paola she was amazing!!!!! And she helped us when we had questions at the front desk. If you never had good ceviche, definitely have it there at the beach side bar!!! AMAZING and FRESH!!! It is great for families but even as a couple we didn't feel out of place. Now the negatives, the food at the buffet was so-so, no matter if breakfast, lunch or dinner. There wasn't a lot of variety (especially Breakfast) and it was bland. I basically ate fruit and french toast everyday. The service also was slow and somewhat inattentive....now it could be a societal thing, but as Americans when I sit down within a minute or 2 I expect drinks, coffee, water, or at least someone acknowledging me. That just didn't happen. And trying to get a refill of a 4oz coffee or water....good luck. At one point i did just go up and refill my own coffee and cream but that was also the 4th day there and i was not happy with service. Also for an All-inclusive resort you would think a Solo cup would be a good size for a drink, whether it water, soda, or a cocktail, not here more like a Dixie cup about 4oz. That is not an exaggeration. Cocktails were weak, had to say Mas Rum a lot. Overall 3.5 solid.

The first night our room was not very good. The air conditioning was loud and we were right next to the outside door. We could hear everyone coming and going. It was very loud. We asked for a new room the next night and it was much nicer. The beds and pillows were a bit hard and the buffet food was average. We could not make reservations at the restaurants because they were booked early. It was an average stay.

Nice gateway if you want a local feel
I have visited 29 different countries and have stayed at a wide range of places ranging from a 5 star hotel to a cheap hostal. Royal Decameron in Punta Centinela, Ecuador will give you a local feel, but with the amenities of an all inclusive. For being a hotel chain they were able to connect their services with the local atmosphere; which is what I look for when I travel. That being said here are some noticeable remarks regarding this establishment: 1) Compared to hotel chains it is smaller. To me this is good because all the hotel has to offer is close, but it also reduces the amount of things they can offer you. Ex. two signature restaurants Vs 4-5 at bigger hotels. 2) This hotel is mainly visited by national tourists, and the majority of the international tourists are from the Spanish neighboring countries. In other words, most staff members only speak Spanish making it difficult for non-Spanish speakers to communicate. For example, I speak Spanish but my wife does not making it very hard for her. 3) I read about the "Native Rudeness" in other reviews, but went in with an open mind. If you are not used to butting in front of people in line for food, you will never eat. It is sad, but I also experienced this during my local travels within the country. 4) Customer service is not what western Europeans, and north Americans are used too. Do not get me wrong, they were not rude but definitely do not go the extra mile even if you are a generous tipper. Yet, I loved it!!

Nice hotel with good entertainment
Hotel is nice near the beautiful beach and has big pools, the negatives experienced were at the restaurant where I made a reservation for dinner. It was full of mosquitoes, two cats appeared under the table which tried to bite us because wanted us to feed them, also appeared black insects looks like roaches. I could stayed there anymore and left the place very disappointed. The restaurant buffets did'nt have to many varieties of dishes

The black insect you saw are not roaches, they are insects called “chinchorros” usually come out in the coast area and rainy season. Fumigations are constantly carried out in the areas and rooms by means of spraying and misting methods when there is any requirement and where is necessary. The cats you may encounter outside the restaurant are cats that come from areas close to the hotel; every effort is made to keep them out of our installations and take them to a safe place for animals as part of our social work to the community and environment. We have 10 varieties of buffet breakfast options and 8 varieties of buffet lunch options with their respective patisserie; we also have our a la carte restaurants which offer Mediterranean and Ecuadorian specialties. In addition, our daily buffets themed dinners, such as Mexican, Ecuadorian, Colombian, Peruvian, Arabic, Oriental, Italian, 70's, etc, in order to offer variety to our guests. We regret any discomfort you may have had during your stay and we appreciate your comments that motivate us to continue along the path to excellence for your complete satisfaction. For being an all-inclusive resort, many of the workers there seemed very dossatisfied with their jobs. Beautiful views everywhere you look. The food was decent, but nothing to brag about. If you have a fish allergy it's hard to find a good meal. I know it's in South America, but they should be able to accommodate for that. My Spanish is very poor and they didn't have many English speakers there. I believe they should at least speak a little English for being a world wide company.

Nice place,but bad service and bad planning.
We stay 2 nights with the program all included, 4 pax. From the check-in the things was not going well, our reservation requirements wasn't took in care, they provide queen beds instead twin beds. At time to dinner 8:30 pm, the menu was not served, because the staff saids that was not enough and many dishes are not available, only chicken. Activities programmed with specific timing do not follow the schedule, in example the bar close half hour earlier and open one hour late, other activities as use of wind boats are only to experts, they do not allow learn our use without experience,.etc etc. in summary, the service is not good ,despite of the efforts of some staff that try to solve problems. From my point of view, the problem is in the administration area. The entertainment is good but in some instance the animator abuse with bulling to the participants. The hotel and facilities are good, but the service do not allow enjoy the place.

Great hotel if a little disorganised
This is a lovely little hotel set right on the beach front. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept, although the approach (via a security checkpoint) makes it a little difficult to find the reception area. The service in the bars and restaurants is excellent, although the staff at the front desk didn't seem too clued up. If you're after reliable Wi-Fi, this is probably not the place for you. It is only free in the lobby so if you want to use it elsewhere you have to pay $4 for a 12 hour session. Whilst not pricey, I do expect the Wi-Fi to work when I pay for it and more often than not, it didn't work. Another area of disappointment was the sheer chaos that occurred when putting our bags into storage after checking out. The storage room is located out the front of the hotel and there is no system for people to collect their bags when they need them. Instead, a pack of wild animals pile in through the doors and windows of the storage room and fight each other for the attention of the bell boys. Elbowing other guests out the way is par for the course as is a general lack of respect from guests. Rather than control the situation, staff just let this happen.

Pésimo hotel, no gastes tu dinero ahí
El hotel está descuidado, muchas cosas ya deben renovarse, la comida es mala, algunos platos de sienten incluso guardados, el servicio regular, limpieza deja mucho que desear (vajilla sucia, cuartos con mal olor) y nuestra estadía fue fatal, estaban unos estudiantes del Liceo de Loja, que hacían tremendo escándalo hasta altas horas de la madrugada, tomaban, fumaban en pasillos y piscina (algo supuestamente prohibido), nos quejamos en recepción porque a los chicos les parecía “súper divertido” gritar en los pasillos y tocar la puerta cuando veían el rótulo de no molestar y despertaron en 4 ocasiones a mi hija de 1 año!! Sin mencionar que intentaron abrir la habitación. La persona de seguridad supuestamente me iba a llamar, algo que hasta ahora no sucede. Para no volver y de plano no recomendar a nadie que vaya. No vale la pena el hotel

Ofertan buffets con la más baja calidad de productos, panes, embutidos, carnes, y ni hablar de la pésima calidad de los licores, solo para ejemplificar cuando se pide vino, ofrecen el vino más barato de cartón. El hot dog de los snacks es con el pan más común. Con la excusa de la pandemia cierran temprano la piscina y el 50-60% de las actividades están suspendidas. El servicio al cliente es MALO, llenos de trabas tontas, que hacen que sea una experiencia horrible. Gastan el tiempo poniendo como problema no cambiar a toallas limpias, o no hacen reservas en restaurantes a la carta si no te quedas más que una noche. La comida es horrible, parecería que hacen todo con lo más barato posible y lo más rápido, cómo por salir de la obligación del all inclusive. Me olvidaba, te multan por todo, y viven amenazando a los huéspedes!

Nuestro all inclusive ofrece en cada uno de sus servicios productos nacionales de excelente calidad, cuyos proveedores cumplen con las condiciones que exige nuestro departamento de seguridad e higiene siguiendo lineamientos de nuestra certificación Haccp. Lamentamos profundamente que haya tenido una experiencia negativa en cuanto a nuestros protocolos y horarios establecidos de servicios. Por nuestra parte hemos  compartido los comentarios a las áreas correspondientes con la finalidad de mejorar y cumplir con las expectativas de nuestros huéspedes; sin embargo, esperamos volver a contar con su visita para que tenga una estadía memorable.

Con respecto al área de Alimentos y Bebidas, cada semana nuestros colaboradores preparan diferentes festivales gastronómicos en el bufet para el desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena con el fin de variar el menú y ofrecer una experiencia de alto nivel gastronómico en el que se exaltan los sabores típicos de la región y de la cocina internacional. Lamentamos mucho que nuestra oferta gastronómica y horarios de piscinas no hayan cumplido con sus expectativa. nos entregaron la habitacion 1002 al lado de la bodega de menaje de camareria, la supuesta vista al jardin no existia teniamos vista a la arcantarilla, habitaciones sin mantenimiento, los focos de las habitaciones no funcionaban un desastre total.

It was relaxing the food was good for Ecuador! The staff tried to be friendly and accommodating. The room was clean. Their should be some english speaking employees. Their should be at less some english channel available on the T.V. The staff worked hard to keep the place clean. The towels were large, soft and clean, beach towel were great. The pool closed a little early but all in all we enjoyed our stay. What about offering a discount if you book another stay before you leave. What about offering fruit and snacks and drinks brought to your room for a fee. What about cooking home made potato chips pool side or by the hot tub. Cooked while you wait! What about and icecream sunday bar pool side?

Aniversario de Boda complicado
Algunas habitaciones estan en muy mal sitio, la nuestra tenía unas ventanas grandes que daban al corredor por donde transitaban los empleados de limpieza, por lo que era muy incómodo. Nos cambiaron de habitacion y la nueva tuvo problemas con el aire acondicionado. De 1 a 3 de la madrugada un grupo de huéspedes borrachos se la pasaron cantando Feliz Cumpleaños, gritando en pasadizos y tocando las puertas de las habitaciones. En el Restaurante Coral pedimos comida sin sal y nos llegó comida absolutamente salada. El area de SPA fue muy buena, la ubicacion del hotel tambien y los empleados fueron amables.
