Traveled with children and these rooms are nice and big for the same price elsewhere for a tiny room, it was nice having a fridge and microwave and a separate living room. Very pleased with our stay.

Probably the best option for downtown SLCPosted May 11, 2015
Pros: Location, room size and cleanliness head and shoulders above other SLC options
Cons: Offer free bottled water in room
Location: It's close to anything downtown, including U campus
Location is ideal, and the free parking is a definite plus. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Overall an outstanding experience.

The hotel it's self promised me a shuttle back and forth from the convention center before I decided to book through Expedia and out of the 27 times I went back and forth from the convention center, the shuttle was only available 2 times! I was also told I would be charged on check out and incidentals and taxes would be all held on check in, however, every single day the hotel was holding a different amount on my card hence throwing off my entire budget during my trip. When checking out a front desk clerk asked me what I thought about my stay and I kindly expressed the negatives and she did nothing about it nor apologized, and "well okay". This hotel customer service really sucks ! They didn't even offer me a warm cookie to make me feel better.

Affordable but less than ideal locationPosted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: The beds are comfortable.
Cons: New windows would be great.
Location: Location is not ideal and there is nothing interesting close by.
We stayed at this hotel in November 2015. The outside looks a bit dated, but the inside is not too bad. The atrium in the middle is nice and all of the doors open to the atrium. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and the room was smaller than anticipated. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a view of downtown, but unfortunately the condensation between the window panes kind of ruined it. The first morning we were there the power went out at about 7am and remained out for most of the day. We received a free breakfast that morning, but it was cold by the time we went down to the restaurant. The hotel is close to the light rail if you want ti take it downtown. It is really quite a walk to get downtown especially in the cold. The neighborhood around the hotel is less than ideal, as it seems to be a haven for the homeless. We did not feel safe walking in the area. All in all the hotel is reasonably priced, but due to the location, I would not stay here again.

Very Convenient LocationPosted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Free parking was a plus.
The staff were very very friendly and could not do enough for us. The lady that served us breakfast went out of her way to accomodate my food allergies. The lady at the desk gave great recommendations, and was very familiar with the area. All the staff exceeded out expectations. Very impressed. Our room was very spacious, and quiet.

Beautiful hotel, but understaffed at desk.Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Location and nice, well maintained building..
Cons: Service in desk area.
Location: Virtually the same as the "Grand American" at less than half the price.
Beautiful hotel in great location to enjoy downtown SLC. However, we had a long wait when checking in and when you have additional needs/questions there is no one to ask. No bell men, no concierge, no nothing. It looked like there were too many supervisors and not enough people actually tending to guests needs.
