Worth what you pay--don't stay here!

Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: Things that were broken: The sink, the telephone, no fridge, and it was all pretty run down!
Location: Right by the Red Iguana and Leatherby's
I called ahead of time to see if there was a fridge in the room. The lady said there was. There was no fridge, and I needed a place to store milk. The lady at the front desk (who I had to call on my phone, because the phone in the room didn't work) said that we could get one the next night, after we checked out. Not helpful. Our door was also almost opened by an employee who was dropping off spray to make it smell better. Good thing the door was locked!

What you'd expect : economical lodging

While traveling long hours across the country, my sister and I needed a clean place to stay that was conveniently located to the freeway, pet friendly (we were traveling with a large dog), and not going to break the bank. This place met those requirements. We are not familiar at all with Salt Lake City and had no idea what part of town to stay in, but decided that something inexpensive and close to the freeway was important to us. While I am still unsure about the area itself, we didn't have any problems. There was plenty of parking, the door keys worked without hassle, there was hot water, the sheets were clean and the beds were comfortable, and perhaps most importantly there was no evidence of bed bugs at all (I work in property management and am completely stressed out about this issue, so I absolutely check every hotel I ever stay in). The carpets were stained but clean, and the walls were not so thin that you could hear neighboring guests unless they were right outside. The room had a coffee maker & a TV, and they offered ice vending and a guest laundry room. For the price and the last minute booking, we couldn't have asked for much more. We interacted with two different members of the staff 4 different times over our stay, and both were friendly, competent, and accommodating. If you're looking for a simple, inexpensive place to rest overnight while passing through SLC, I'm sure there are worse places to choose. Save some money for some gas and coffee the next morning.

Hotel was ok. It was what I was expecting, cheap price, cheap place. I found inconvenient the fact that the airport shuttle doesn't work from 11-4pm, since it is the driver break time. Anyway I was still able to get the train, the station is very close by.

I needed a place to stay for two nights. I knew it wasn't gonna be great but it was worse than expected. The room looks ok at first but there's cracks and spots on the toilet, the shower, and walls. The sheets and blankets had holes and the 2nd lock on the door had been ripped right out. Didn't sleep both nights because people were yelling right outside my room all night long. There was a tree outside my room that had pants hanging from it. Staff was rude at check in but friendly at check out. Keep looking.

Decent hotel close to the Red Iguana

Pros: The cheap price.
Cons: The overall cleanliness of the rooms.
The hotel was definitely nothing fancy. I would only recommend this place to friends because it is cheap. Book online to get the best deals, if you walk in they give you their daily rate. The breakfast was a standard continental breakfast, but unlike the Econo Lodge in Omaha this place does not water down their juices or coffees. The first room we got assigned to smelled like urine so we requested to be changed to a new room which the receptionist gladly obliged to.

Older hotel that shows its age.

Older motel but room was clean and comfortable. Front desk folks were friendly and helpful in answering questions about the town. Had to put the A/C down to an indicated 60 to get it to cool but that got it down to a comfortable (68 to 70ish) level. The hotel has it's own van service but we did not use it, so we can not comment on the service.

Terrible Maintenance and room service

Pros: Nothing. Could have got everything with no hassles from other hotels of same grade.
Cons: Please improve customer service.
Very poor service from the reception especially when called for service. Something as urgent as water not coming from sink took them the whole day to find a person and fix it for us. This effort took me atleast 4-5 phone calls to get it done. This is something not accepted for a room I paid so much.

Desk clerk was a rude old man! Room was filthy...carpet gross! I wouldn't let my grandson's on the floor without shoes. We stayed somewhere else on our trip back through.

Staff was very nice but the hotel needs a major update which is happening soon I have been told. Holes in walls, musty smell. Not enough plug ins for all the utilities. Pool was good but continental breakfast was weak. Packages of donuts and coffee.

Horrific adventure

Pros: Other than location absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!
We rented 2 rooms the first room smelled of mold and mildew but was moderately clean however, the water temperature would switch from hot to cold with no warning. The second room air conditioning was not working. We discovered this at approximately 1130 P.M. in the evening, the desk clerk stated that the computer system was shut down and she could not move us but did furnish us with a single speed box fan that only provided minimal air flow when place against an open window, the temperature in the room was well above 95 degrees. The following morning at 6 A.M. we returned to speak to management they stated they would have maintenance fix it immediately. We returned to our room at 330 P.M. the issue was still not fixed. At 430 P.M. we again had to return to the office where we practically had to threaten management with a law suit in order to receive another room. The room we were moved to had a working air conditioning along with a large number of ants, a toilet that clogged when used and as with all the rooms was not cleaned properly. Along with these issues the maids only entered one of our rooms during the 4 day stay. They did not make the beds or clean the bathroom they only restocked the towels in the kids room and did throw away my daughters food that had no appearance of being trash. I would strongly suggest that you not use this motel or if you do, do so at your own risk.
