Great hotel and great staff

We always stay at the Hampton Inn wherever we go. The beds are always comfortable, the pillows are awesome, everything is clean, and the breakfast is outstanding. I was slightly disappointed this time around, because the whirlpool was not in working order. But hey, it happens sometimes. The staff at this particular Hampton Inn were absolutely fantastic. Even the manager took the time to come out and meet everyone at breakfast. It was a wonderful experience.

No air conditioning and unresponsive staff

After a 400 mile drive we were looking forward to a good night's rest. We checked in without incident, but when we got to our room we found that the AC wasn't working. Called the fon desk and a guy shows up about 20 minutes later. Tinkers around for a bit and says the AC is fixed. I check it and tell him that it isn't, it's just the fan. He said it'll kick in after he builds pressure. Didn't make sense to me, but decided to give him the vendor of the doubt. 30 minutes pass. Still nothing. By now we're unpacked, the kids are showered ready for bed and complaining about the heat. I call the front desk and another 20 minutes pass. I call again and the guy at the front desk says he can move us, but it would be to another floor and section of the hotel. One of my kids is now asleep so I ask that they just fix it. The maintenence guy arrives after another 15-20 minutes and is clearly not happy to be called back. Changes out the entire unit this time and still can't get it to work. At this point we give up and decide to try and make sure with the fan. The next morning as we checked out, I relay to the person at the counter and he says that's too bad. Have a nice day. To rub salt in it all, he's standing next to a sign that says 100% satisfaction guarantee. Really? So disappointed with this Hampton. I have stayed at several others and always had a positive experience. Would never return to this location.

Okay room. Terrible service

Got to the hotel and they gave us our room. Opened the door and someone was already in there. Gave us a different room without any sort of upgrade or discount. The room we walked into had dirty clothes everywhere and suitcases all over. Not pleased

Great find in South SLC

We booked a last minute hotel on the drive form Canada to Arizona and were we ever happy with our choice. Staff was exceptional. Rooms were very clean and had plenty of outlets and USB chargers for the gadgets. (Best feature ever!) And the Breakfast bar was fantastic - waffles, eggs, sausages, yogurt and on and on.....

Pros: The front desk personnel were great! Very welcoming and able to let me check in 1/2 hour early.
Location: South Expo Center is close by and the hotel was used to attend events there.
I usually enjoy staying at Hampton Inns but this one rated lower than usual. Immediately upon walking into the room we noticed two flies zipping through the air. After killing one, we found that there were actually three. We were able to shoo one out of the room and the other one ended up being swatted. I thought about opening the window to force them out but when I got to the window, I found multiple gnat looking flies. The window slid but didn't open to anything....it just slid. There was also an odor from the air conditioner of stagnant water. If given the choice, I don't think I will stay here again.

Every time I stay at a Hampton Inn, I am very pleased. When I travel, I always look for a Hampton Inn near the location I am going.

Great hotel conveniently located for visiting just about anywhere in the SLC region. Well appointed rooms with the little extras that just made the stay great.
