real crowd pleaserPosted Dec 3, 2013
This hotel had just been aquired by Wyndham and the results were spectacular. Every employee I encountered greeted me and asked how my stay was going. Room was huge and clean. Price was right. The complimentary breakfast was a full blown breakfast buffet. Even had a bagel toaster. I selected this hotel based on a sports bar I wanted to be close to. Hawthorn Suites did not disappoint.

Under Construction!!!Posted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: Rooms were ok, beds sucked!
Cons: Handling the construction better would be a start. Nicer beds as well.
Location: It is SLC, what is there to do.
Would have been nice to know that they were under construction and moved the front desk to a hotel room on the first floor. We drove in late and spent 15 to 20 mins walking around looking for the front desk. Only when we where almost near it, there where signs pointing us in the direction we needed to go. Staff was trying to deal with it, but management should have been more on the ball on this one. Until they get done with the construction I would not stay there. Even after it is done, I wonder if they will handle the day-to-day operations as well as they did this.

Discount "yes" under construction thats why....Posted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was under major construction. Couldnt get in couldnt use the gym, grab and go breakfast of apples and packaged pastries. I know why the price was what it was. They should tell you about this before you book a non refundable room.

Perfect LocationPosted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: Laundry and workout facility. Central to shopping, dining and personal service establishments.
Currently under remodeling construction but still completely functional. I stay at Hawthorne each time I travel to the area and am always pleased with the staff and accomodations.

The location is good for food and shopping.Posted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: The kitchen was well equipped. We walked across the street to get dinner, very convenient.
They are renovating the hotel, so it is confusing and we had to make the pull out bed ourselves after finding additional linens in the closet which wasn't a big deal, but couldn't get ahold of the front desk staff to ask about it. We did end up searching and finding the the things we needed. The air condition barely blows in the bedroom, but blares in the front room where we used a pull out bed.

under construction!Posted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in the middle of renovations, and had I known this I would not have stayed here. The "front desk" was a tiny office down the hall from a back door propped open with a rock now acting as the main entrance. The hotel looked dingy and had the smell of wet paint. We were given a letter explaining the construction that said construction started at 9AM on weekdays and 10 AM on Wednesdays, but at 8 Sunday morning we could hear drills going down the hall. Also we were told that regular housekeeping services were only going to take place every 5 days, so if you are planning a multi night stay keep, this in mind. The complementary breakfast was bottled juice, pre packaged poppy seed muffins and Quaker Oats granola bars set on a small table outside of the elevator, more of a light snack than an actual meal. Also our toilet required multiple flushes to clear the bowl of "solid waste" Until they are finished with renovations in September I can't recommend this hotel to anyone

Hotel is less expensive than others, it is ok!Posted Jul 17, 2013
Pros: Stores and shopping all around, Hotel right off main street.
Cons: Breakfast! Make sure people get what they pay for. Paid for King size bed, recieved a double bed. No other rooms available.
Location: Plenty of Stores for shopping, and Restaurants. Mountain pass up road about 1-mile.
Hotel is less expensive than others, but no pool. They put out a basket for breakfast, once muffins, water, or orange juice, is gone. They don't refill anything. That means you better get up early to get something, or go out for breakfast. Place is under construction. Staff was curtious, and pleasant. Online said King size bed, only got a full size bed.

We were so excited that we stayed in a new area of the hotel from other stays. We loved the large table in the room. It was quiet. The staff were super friendly and aided us even though we were supposed to check in the night before but were unable to leave work that early. We had a super quiet night. No complaint about our stay. Staff was great.
