A little disappointing
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Cons: VERY SMALL ROOMS
The room was very small. Front desk employees were very friendly. No bath fan for the steam to escape. Very small bathroom with just enough room to turn around in. The shower head leaked and sprayed in all directions. Not quite what we were hoping for in this hotel.

The hotel was very nice, i was disappointed about no parking(valet only) and the fact that they didn't have a swimming pool.

A high quality hotel in a great location
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: The historic character.
Location: The location is great. It's a short light rail ride from the airport (get off at Courthouse) and within a block of a great pastry shop and stores.
I stayed here for a convention recently and was quite impressed. Not only is the hotel in a historic building full of charm and character - unlike so many hotels - but it still has all the latest amenities, including iMacs in the lobby for customer use. The beds are also very comfortable, which is very important to me, and the pillows are very nice feather ones. There's even a yoga mat in every room.

Nice hotel in the center of Salt Lake City
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Very comfortable and clean hotel. It is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. It is within walking distance of Temple Square, the Conference Center, and the Genealogical Library. During the off season, the rates are very reasonable. It is indeed a nice place to stay. I enjoyed it very much.

Charming hotel
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Location: The location was great, near the temple square and the arena.
Hotel Monaco is a very charming hotel. We booked a double queen bed room and it was quite spacious. Was modern. The beds were comfortable. Though the bathroom was quite small. We checked in late at night, and the receptionist was civil but not very welcoming. She didn't even tell me where the elevator was! Anyways, the valet men were very very nice and helpful.

Great Hotel

Pros: Location and Room.
Cons: Gym and no free Wi-Fi.
Location: Location is right in downtown...very nice.
Hotel and room were wonderful. Gym was okay, it was way too small for the clientele. Many of the people that walked in had to turn around and walk out. Only 5 pieces of equipment total. Hotel is in a good location, room was very clean and well decorated. I didn't try to the restaurant, but was very modern. I was given a free upgrade when I checked in, however the description of the hotel said free internet and it cost me an additional $11.99 when I tried to connect.

Beyond Comfortable

The hotel is an example of Kimpton's exceptional reputation. Other than the need for a little more "personality" from the front reception staff and the slight sound travel between rooms the stay was a 5/5. I especially appreciated the mind/body channel that is offered, in addition to the hotel being able to accommodate a few special requests. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a 4 star property in the SLC area. It is walking distance to some great restaurants and sights.
