My trip to UtahPosted Nov 23, 2013
I have been to this Howard Johnson's Express Hotel before this trip, I knew about the shuttle to the airport and I used this shuttle again. They were very fast at calling a taxi for me. I wish my room would have had a microwave and a refrigerator. I got an accessible room this time, which I liked because I have arthritis. All in all a good experience. Marilyn Hinkle

No frills place near downtownPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: proximity to downtown and major highways
Cons: Needs substantial re-modeling
Location: Basketball arena, downtown mall, close to the downtown
No frills apartment in a fairly old building. It is in a very good location, just a few blocks from the center of SLC and near the basketball arena and downtown mall.

Better options out there.Posted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: Front desk staff were friendly. Relatively inexpensive.
Cons: Nothing - it would take an entire hotel/motel overhaul to improve the place.
Even though it was a pillowtop, bed was too hard. Tiny bathroom. Breakfast was subpar - the bagels were like hockey pucks. The heater did not turn on when it was supposed to. Ended up being a cold night on a hard bed. Plus, this is basically a motel.

The hotel was in a good locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The free shuttle to & from the airport - our driver Ron was wonderful. Matt (clerk on duty) was very helpful too. The continental breakfast was good.
Cons: The bed was not comfortable
Location: The fall colors were beautiful, & restaurants good. We went on two tours which we loved. And, we enjoyed listening to the Mormon Tabernacle choir.
The Marquee posted rates that were considerably lower than what we paid. There was a convention in town, and many hotels were full, so they were able to charge. The bed was not very comfortable, and it was a bit noisy at night.

A slightly dated hotel which is close to Temple SqPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Close to the city and enjoyable breakfast. Pick up to and from the airport.
Cons: The décor of the rooms
Location: Imax Theatre, Gateway Mall and the new Creek Mall. Also the Mormon church, gardens in Temple Square and other Mormon buildings.
This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel but the rooms are looking a bit shabby so probably won't stay there again but it is close to the Traxx train system and to two shopping Malls. They serve a good uncooked breakfast. As there had been a conference on, my room rate was much higher than usual.

Pros: Walking distance to Temple Square. Good rate.
Cons: Needs updating.
Location: Temple square is within walking distance
H.j. Was very reasonably priced and we could walk to Temple Square. It was an older motel but clean. Breakfast was ok too.

Good Location, Close to DowntownPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: Overall needed a facelift.
Location: Close to the Energy Solutions Arena, Temple Square, City Creek Mall.
The location was perfect, 1 block from Energy Solutions Arena, 4-5 blocks from Temple Square and City Creek Shopping. The hotel wasn't the nicest we've stayed at, but it wasn't the worst either. If you want cheap that's close to downtown, then this is pretty good location.

A good place to stayPosted Oct 8, 2013
An older motel, but it was very clean and the staff were wonderful. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay that is clean and comfortable then this is it. 3 blocks from temple square, makes it a nice walk.
