Amazing customer service

Posted Apr 11, 2014
We initialy were put in a room that was in the courtyard it was run down and smelt awful( like pets or smoke). When we asked for another room they were very accommodating and moved us to the towers for no extra charge . They went above and beyond with their customer service.

Could have been much better.

Pros: The lobby is impressive, but you don't sleep there. The room was large and well appointed.
Cons: They should do more to check out the working quality of the rooms.
Location: The location is a good one in downtown Salt Lake City. Close enough to downtown to walk to the main attractions like the Temple Square or the Leonardo
We arrived early at 11 AM but could not get a room. They said we could try again after 12 noon. We came back at 1 PM, they said they did not have a room come back after 3 PM. However, the person behind me at 1 PM was given a room. They had booked directly with the hotel. So Little America apparently gives those people preference. When we came back at 5 PM, they had a room. I was asked if I wanted a first or second floor room. I said I preferred a first floor room. Then the desk agent said she would upgrade our room since there were no first floor rooms available like we had reserved. It was a larger room with two queen beds instead of one. When we walked in the room was very warm (it was a near record high that day). I turned the thermostat way down. It appeared as though that room had not been occupied in a while. We next proceeded to try to access the free in-room wireless. It didn't work. We spent the next 45 minutes talking with "tech support" to try to find the problem. We finally gave up and told them we would do without. We left for dinner stopping at the front desk to tell them about the wireless problem and the malfunctioning air conditioning. The A/C was repaired when we returned from dinner but not the wireless.

The bed was a little too hard for me and the outlet did not work in the bathroom, but overall stay was very pleasant. Room was very very clean.

Nice clean hotel close to downtown activities

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: This is an older hotel but has been totally refurbished & the rooms in the courtyard where we always stay, are clean and decorated in vintage style.
Cons: There is no complimentary breakfast & it would be nice if they had one. There is a nice coffee shop & restaurant at the hotel.
Location: City Creek Mall, Temple Square, Energy Solutions Arena, Gateway Mall, Clark Planetarium & IMAX Theatre & lots of very good restaurants.
We love staying at Little America when we come to SLC for General Conference, shopping or attending a Jazz game. It's close to shopping, Temple Square, & Energy Solutions Arena. There is a trax station across the street, so no need to drive your car around downtown and pay for parking. Since it's in the free zone you also ride the trax for free to go to Temple Square or Gateway Mall or any other downtown locations.
