Great get-a-way for the family. Close enough to downtown SLC to walk.

Warm Welcome

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Staff was very helpful and greeted me wherever I walked in the hotel. It was very clean and organized. Staff was professional.
Cons: I am not crazy about having the first room right off the elevators. They are always noisy.
Location: I did not spend any time specifically touring the area.
When I arrived at the front entrance of the hotel I was greeted by the doorman who asked if I wanted to valet. When I learned the cost I indicated I preferred to self-park. He gave me very helpful instructions to the parking garage. The reception at registration was very warm and welcoming.

Perfectly located for our needs this weekend

Nice to have inside parking. Missed having a continental breakfast. But it was great to walk everywhere we needed. Loved the view. Kids loved the elevator and pool!

Such a nice hotel! Enjoyed our stay and it is close walk to catch the Trax tram and can walk to Temple Square and the City Creek Mall. They do charge you for parking while you stay there which is a bummer though.

ACDA Convention

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: We all enjoyed the view from our rooms of the ice skating rink and the beautiful lights.
Cons: A microwave and refrigerator should be a given in any room or hotel.
Location: Parking garage elevator near desk at one end of hotel lobby, elevator to rooms at the other end of the lobby. Makes for lots of dragging luggage.
We attended the honor choir performances and the performances of the children with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir which was excellent. The weather for the end of February was great. We enjoyed snow that fell and melted immediately especially since we were walking everywhere in Salt Lake City. I wish we had stayed in the City Creek Marriott as it would have been closer to the Temple Square and the performance locations.

Most uncomfortable bed and hidden parking charges

Posted Feb 22, 2015
I was disappointed with our stay here. Upon arrival they tacked on a $14/night parking charge. We chose this hotel based on the price so when that happened I wasn't happy. The room itself was nice looking until I layed down on the bed. It was awful, and I couldn't sleep. The pillows were bad, just overall disappointing. We were told that every room had the exact same beds which was surprising. I'm not usually picky, but this was just not ok. We ended up checking out early and checked into the Little America. I will never stay anywhere else when I'm in the area. For a few extra dollars my weekend went from uncomfortable to absolutely luxurious (and no I swear I don't work for Little America lol!!)
Comment from Hotel Management

Meg, We appreciate your feedback and are very sorry you were frustrated with parking charges and our bedding. Currently, we charge $14 for self-parking or $18 for valet parking per day. Our beds were changed out in 2013 and are the same throughout the entire hotel. Based on customer comments we are in the process of replacing all pillows throughout the hotel. I realize this does not improve your stay but we utilize customer comments such as yours to help make purchasing decisions for improved Guest Satisfaction. Once again, we appreciate the feedback. Thank you, Marriott City Center

Nice hotel close to the Salt Palace

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed, hot tub, and walking distance to the Salt Palace
Cons: It would be nice to not have to pay to park the car
Location: It is also very close to the Capitol Theatre
Close and comfortable hotel while attending the Rootstech Conference at the Salt Palace.
