Excellent service, very slow Wi-Fi connection

Posted May 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
My stay at the Radisson Hotel Salt Lake City Downtown was satisfactory. The Wi-Fi was frustratingly slow, and some pages would error out after trying to load for minutes. I took a full day to work from my room, so this was a major inconvenience. For me, it's the small things that make my hotel experiences exemplary. For example, there were no robe/towel hooks in the bathroom to hang a toiletries bag. I don't normally look for this feature in a bathroom, but the fact that there was not one made me realize how useful they are. The service was excellent; I forgot a toothbrush and toothpaste, and they delivered one to my door within a few minutes. The location was also excellent; it was just a 3-minute walk to the conference center, so there was no need to rent a car.

Great Salt Palace Hotel

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: Guest relations
Location: The hotel is in reasonable walking distance (.5 mi.) to restaurants and shopping and across the street from the Salt Palace.
We attended a convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Raddison is next door to the Convention Center so it may be the most convenient convention hotel. Having free wifi and guest computers with printers was nice also. The room was recently renovated and was very comfortable. The front desk staff was knowledgeable and efficient but not warm and friendly. The housekeeping staff also did their job efficiently but needs guest relations training. We came in contact with them 7 or 8 times during our stay and was never got any greeting from them. We had the breakfast buffet one morning and that was very average in quality as well as selection. The wait staff was something less than average.

Needs an update.

Very old! Light switches are that cream nasty color with years if grime. Bathroom door all scratched up with old round knobs, old light fixtures, baseboards need painting. Under bed wasn't clean. Air conditioner was so loud when it went on. And you can hear between walls!

Internet didn't work.

I don't know about you, but if a place doesn't have its wi-fi working, then it is useless to me.

Nice Hotel, Terrible Customer Service

Posted Apr 20, 2014
This hotel seemed like it was a new hotel, so the rooms were clean & comfortable. However, it is in a very busy part of downtown SLC and parking is very limited and the hotel charges $12 per day for parking for hotel guests. The fee was a minor annoyance, but during our stay we were driving a large vehicle and did not fit in the parking plaza and we were forced to park in the reserved parking the hotel provided for tall vehicles. This was another problem for us during our stay, because the hotel refused to enforce their reserved parking status and we still were left with no place to park. We complained to hotel staff and nothing was done. So, for my future stays in SLC, we will look at staying somewhere else.

Good location

Posted Apr 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were close to temple square, which is what we wanted. Was disappointed that parking at the hotel was an extra cost. Felt it should have been FREE. Also, heater/cooler in room was very noisy. Over all it is a great place to stay

Dear Garry, Thank you very much for your review. I have addressed your concerns regarding our parking fees with our management team, and we are working hard in finding solutions to this issue. Also, we understand how important a quiet environment is and apologize for the loud AC unit. Your feedback helps us prevent situations such as this in the future. Conference

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location and view
Cons: why the hell doesn't the hotel do anything against a concert next door going on until 1:30 in the morning?
Rooms are okay, however the complementary bottle of water only seems to appear if you leave a tip in the room to be found. The "spa" are needs a makeover though, rather trist room, basically everything is thrown in one room so not much of a spa feeling
