Pleasantly surprised!

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: The rooms were lovely with great air con, a microwave and fridge. Very comfy beds and it was clean. We loved the outdoor pool and the fitness suite.
Cons: Breakfast was expensive (not included) and we ddn't like the 'feel' of the diner. They wanted cash but the hotel had already taken 40 dollars per room
Location: Temple Square was wonderful. Welfare Square too. A lovely city.
We used the secret hotel option and were really worried when we read the reviews after the hotel was revealed. It did have construction going on but they stopped at 6pm and started at 9am. The two rooms we booked were lovely. Luckily our room window lock was broken so we could open our window to the balcony and luckily my daughter's room had a permanently locked window. We tried our granddaughter's head through the railings on our balcony and she would have slipped right through so we could see the sense in keeping them locked. The outdoor pool was just great! The fitness centre was good too. Breakfast was not included and we hated the diner. The food was ok but the atmosphere was horrible. We had to find someone ask for juice/hot drinks which were not on the buffet. It was over ten dollars each and so we went to iHop the next day. The hotel took 40 dollars per room per day off my credit card to be used in the diner etc but the diner guy wanted cash. We would go back.

very close to the airport for quuick trips

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: it's closeness to the airport for quick trips
Cons: KEY access for all the doors after hours
Location: good downtown location for shopping and moives and professional basketball
WE had to wait along time to register they were very busy but didn't get anyone to help them when they were so busy. THE room was ok for our needs to have a home base to and from the airportITS

New rooms are best

The first room I checked into had not been Cleaned and was older. I went to the staff and they upgraded the room. That made my stay much better.

Hotel under construction

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: The room was nice and I liked the shower head and shampoo
Cons: Have complimentary breakfast, inform guests if there is construction going on
Location: It was located pretty close to the Energy Solutions Arena
I was not pleased with our hotel experience. We were not notified that the hotel was under construction until we had checked in. We were informed that our hallway did not have carpet yet, but was not informed that they were doing construction. The hotel room was nice and loved the shower head :) But did not enjoy waking up to pounding and construction going on early in the morning. There were only parts of the hotel under construction but it would have been nice to know before we booked. I also did not like the area of the hotel. It was more of a sketchy area. I won't be staying at this hotel again.

They are in the process of renovating the hotel. There will be minor noise and construction traffice. The elevators were under construction, so wait times to access the guest rooms were slightly increased.

Upscale at the right price!

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Very modern, clean, upscale. It was a treat! The 9th floor had some construction, so I was surprised that I was put up there, but when I arrived at he room it was beautiful inside. What was more surprising, was that the concierge did not alert us to the massive construction project on our floor, at first we thought it was some kind of mistake. Parking was plentiful and easily accessible. Only a few miles from Red Iguana, the best Mexican food in Salt Lake, and 10 min from the airport

Cheaply renovated!

The hotel is nice and it is renovated, but the renovations are cheap. I would still recommend the hotel because it was a good stay, but I will tell you, this is not a doubletree or a marriott.
