Convenient to convention & shopping

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, parking valet service, location
Cons: I would have liked to have had breakfast available. Starbucks was a good substitute but their seating area was freezing cold.
Location: Conference facilities, tourist attractions, shopping, entertainment facilities
The room was clean, the personnel were courteous. The parking valet service was extremely flexible and considerate. The hotel is close to shopping, tourist attractions, and was very convenient to the Salt Palace where our conference was taking place. We will certainly stay there on our next over night (or longer) visit to Salt Lake City.

Perfect Location

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location Friendliness of staff Restaurant in hotel Starbucks in hotel
Cons: I was surprised that when I purchased the breakfast buffet included in the room, there was an automatic gratuity charge of 15%.
Location: Across the street from convention center and museum. Two blocks from Capitol Theater. Adjacent to City Creek Mall.
In Salt Lake to see Ballet West's production of "Giselle". This hotel is perfectly located adjacent to City Creek Mall and two blocks from Capitol Theatre. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and always clean.

Nice hotel, close to Tabernacle and shopping.

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Spacious room.
Cons: Guest had to pay for parking. Continental breakfast was not provided. For Marriott's reputation one would have thought those things were a given.
Location: Walking distance to Tabernacle Square and City Creek shopping, and restaurants.
Pleasant stay in Salt Lake City. Very clean area of the city.

Old hotel

Old and outdated rooms. Very small rooms for $250 per night. My price through expedia was over $100 more per night than what other people paid in my travelling group

Too many extra charges

Pros: Close to Temple Square
1. Should not charge for basic wifi 2. Should be a complementary breakfast Buffett

A Compromise: Close to Temple Square but Tiny Room

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Pool area and workout rooms are great! Location is excellent--right near everything downtown! Great beds.
Cons: Replace slippery tile around the pool or put down rubber mats instead of making staff stand there and wipe up the water. Install room towel racks!
Location: Everything downtown is right there! Shopping, entertainment, sports arena, Temple Square. Walked everywhere, didn't need to use my car at all.
Very close to attractions downtown, but expensive and small. Booked a room for 5 through Expedia, but was told I could get only 2 double beds or 1 king when I got there--no fold-out couch or any planned place for the "5th" person. They gave me 2 doubles with one roll-away bed finally--really tight quarters. The bathroom was all enclosed, so only 1 person could use it at once--prefer having sink in separate area. Great lobby, free fruit-flavored water, nice staff. You have to request a fridge ahead of time if you want one. I would do this again if I had two adults and two small children in the same room, because I loved the location, workout room, and pool. I think I would get two of the smaller, older rooms at Little America instead (almost the same price as one room at the Marriott), even though it is a few blocks away. We had three adults, two teenagers--too many people for the room Expedia sold us. I am going to beware of both Expedia and hotels from now on and call to double-check what the actual room space is--I have never had this problem before, but it makes a difference when traveling with a crowd.

Nice hotel. Excellent staff

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: convenience, close to shopping and attractions
Cons: did not notice anything that needed improvement
Location: Across the street from the Salt Palace Convention Center. Next to City Creek shopping mall. One block from the LDS Temple
The hotel was very nice. Right across from the Salt Palace which made it very convenient to get to our convention. The staff was so friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed.

Great location. Very nice hotel. Reasonable price.

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Location, gym, pool.
Cons: There was some leftover wrappings from the previous guest on the floor under a piece of furniture when we arrived. Parking and internet cost.
Location: Plenty of restaurants, shopping, Capitol Theater, sporting events, parks. This is simply a great location!
Easy to get around downtown simply by walking around - left the car in the garage the entire time. Easy access to many cafe's and restaurants. Nice to tour through Temple Square. Lovely room, although a little chilly. Gym was reasonable size with slightly more variety than we usually find when traveling. It was a great stay in a romantic location.
