“Third Time there - Excellent Location”

I've stayed here three times to do genealogical research at the Family History Library. Usually arrive the day after Thanksgiving as it is less crowded and quieter. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The free shuttle was very efficient and prompt. The nearby restaurant was very convienient, good food, and economically priced. The room was clean and comfortable - of course, not a five star, but again not paying a five star price. You can easily access any of the downtown sites on a nearby tram that runs free through downtown, including the mall about 3-4 blocks away. There is a post office within walking distance and several other restaurants. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

“I love the Plaza Hotel at Temple Square”

The view was amazing both from the room and from the window at the end of the hall. The bed was very comfortable. The price was very reasonable for the location next to Temple square, Family History (Genealogy) Library, and Abravanel Hall, home of the Utah Symphony. We will stay there again and would highly recommend The Plaza Hotel at Temple Square to family and friends. Guest from Wyoming

“Can't beat the location”

Stay here and walk everywhere. Close to Temple Square, Salt Palace, lots of great restaurants. It's an old hotel but has been updated and is well maintained. Reasonable parking and unbeatable location.

“Fantastic location”

The bed had an extremely firm mattress and the heater only had one setting, high.

It is a nice place to stay, good price, clean, nice rooms. The only unsatisfying thing is the hotel staff. They are not rude, and they try to help but They are not as polite, friendly, and professional looking as one would expect either. With the corny jokes, their attitude just didnt feel right. “So convenient & comfortable”

I enjoyed the modern room decor, the unbelievably comfortable bed/linens, and the location made it convenient to see the sights in downtown Salt Lake City. The bathroom was spacious, too, and the refrigerator and microwave were a nice surprise. There were even two sinks, one inside the bath and one outside. The airport shuttle also makes staying at the Plaza convenient. On the downside, for such a lovely hotel, it doesn't seem out of the question to accept both shampoo and conditioner in the room. The combined version just doesn't cut it.

Hotel was great and very accommodating. Room was clean and very comfortable.

Area recommendations

The downtown was under a lot of construction. It made it very difficult to get into the hotel. Limited front entrance parking. The people working there were very pleasant and help out with parking limitations I had.

“Location, location, location”

If you've got business in the downtown SLC area, and you're on a bit of a budget, this may be the place for you to stay. It's not a budget feel, nor a complete budget price. It's not the Grand America either. It's clean, well maintained and hundreds less than the big name chain hotels within the square mile or so that is the heart of SLC. The strict no-smoking policy may turn some off, but if you're a non smoker, it's a little bit of heaven! Not surprisingly the location attracts the non-smoking LDS visitor to the Family History Library, the LDS Temple, or visitors to Temple Square. We had three rooms for great grandparents, grandparents and parents and all 3 generations found the rooms comfortable, reasonably priced, and perfectly located.

“A stones throw from Temple Square”

Clean and comfortable, although parking was NOT free, as we were told, it was $5.00 a day.
