Breakfast was disgusting!Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The large hot tub and the sauna.
Cons: Everything, especially cleanliness.
Location: Downtown Salt Lake City, w/ lots of sites to see.
The room and pool/hottub/sauna were descent, but not as nice as the picture shown online. No pictures were shown of the bathroom, so I called to ask if the bathroom was big, explaining that we had 2 adults and 2 teens sharing it. The staff member told me that it is quite big. The bathroom was small, with a very small vanity area - which is what we need to be the most spacious. How the hotel staff member thought this was a large bathroom I will never know. Then, the worst part of it was when we went to breakfast the next morning. As soon as you walked into the restaurant where the complimentary breakfast is served it was dim and dingy looking. I was leery to eat the food, because the place appeared unkempt and unclean. Then when we were almost done we found a dead green bug on the side of one of our drinking glasses. We told the waitress and she brought us a second glass of water. We continued eating and a few minutes later all of the sudden I realized that I could see 2 wings of the same kind of bug we had just seen in the other glass. We were disgusted and left. We never want to stay their again, and it was definitely not worth the $109 taxes and fees we paid!!

It was horrible will never go back. They double charged me for my stay. The power was turned off in the middle of the night, the whole place stinks starting in the lobby, all the way to the room.

Never againPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: It is located in downtown.
Cons: Friendlier staff, clean room
This was one of the dirtiest hotels that I have ever stayed in. The room smelled like laundry that has sat in the washing machine for a week. The hole room would fog up when you showered. There was no "Do not disturb" sign, so the cleaning crew just walked in without even knocking. The people at the front desk looked like they did not want to be there. One morning we went down stairs and there had been a sewer line problem so the lobby smelled of raw sewage. I would say it is worth paying a little more to stay anywhere else in SLC.

Old, downtown hotelPosted Aug 5, 2014
Hotel is going through a much needed renovation. Everything is very old. They had a sign on one of the three elevators saying it was out of service, but our last day there, another elevator stopped working and the staff did not post a sign and did not seem to care. Only one of the numerous staff members at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The pool/sauna/excercise room was extremely dated...The sauna door wouldn't even shut all the way so it never really warmed up. It's been quite a few years since I have seen an old tube tv, but these rooms have them! If you are looking for something cheaper in the downtown area and don't care about a comfortable stay with good amenities, this place would work. Other than that, I would wait until the renovation is finished.

Close to downtownPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Staff was pleasant and helpful, room was comfortable and clean. Complementary breakfast in lobby café was very nice.
Cons: The pool area.
Location: Very close to downtown Salt Lake City, Temple Square, Salt Palace Convention Center, City Creek Mall, Energy Solutions Arena. Public Transportation
Had reserved 4 rooms. When we arrived they only had us down for 3 rooms. All 4 rooms were supposed to have 2 queen beds but one of the rooms had only a single King size bed. The pool area was very dirty. There was dirt in all the puddles on the deck and a ring of dirt or scum all around the top of the pool. The hot tub had less than half of the jets working and the sauna was only hot in the top of the room, when you sat on the benches they weren't warm and you couldn't feel the heat unless you stood up.

Good location but far below expectations.Posted Jul 28, 2014
Convenient for everything in downtown SLC but dated and current renovations underway are lacking effort. We were in a renovated room. The old shower unit floor was resurfaced with non-slip but it didn't cover all of the original non-slip thus, the old, nasty, tub floor was a frame for the new one. The bathroom walls had been repaired but they didn't retexture the patches before painting so the walls looked like they had mange. The windows are sealed for safety but the air in the AC had an odor. Furniture was old and scratched and the tv was a museum piece probably dating back to when the property was a Howard Johnson. Free breakfast is a choice of three options and is done in the sushi restaurant in the lobby and we chose to skip it and go to a restaurant nearby. The staff was friendly enough but I expect that as part of the experience. The only real positive that I can say about this property is that it is very convenient for seeing downtown SLC.

Ice machine on my floor was broken, not dispencing ice. Also went to iron and ironing board was broken, would not stay up. Love the view from my room but out side window was extremely filthy and dirty.
